No, I've never been Roman.

No offence, but it is very easy to convince ourselves of things we want to think...... Unreasoning animosity is still unreasoning animosity.

Sorry if I took something out on you. I don't think I was particularly mean--although I can be the kung fu master of the laconic. I've had this conversation WAY too often to enjoy it much I guess.

Sorta' gets my nanny when folks won't think, and won't accept facts.

If you want to discuss things where Rome has ACTUALLY got it wrong, I'm all ears, and can give good information.

Sorry you're offended; so am I. I'm not going to be in this discussion for now.

PS. to David: Maybe since we ask you to pray for us we should build a church to you and you can sit up front and let us pray to you. NOW THAT WAS A SILLY COMMENT---hope you were teasing because normally your logic  makes more sense than that, even when I don't agree with you.

:)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I am sorry if I was silly Brother Fiosh,

I apologize. :57_57:

I was leaning to the argument where asking someone to pray for you, and praying to someone to pray for you, were two diff" ideals.

Asking a fellowship or a brother in Christ to pray for you is Biblically sound would you not say so.

Again praying to someone would make that a worship would it not, having a graven image of that person, naming the Church after the person, asking the person who apparently already has passed on to mediate on behalf of us.

I always enjoy your posts too, I am sure there is no ill feelings whilst we are considering this issue.

1 Tim 2:5 [KJV]

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

God Bless You.

Dear brother Jim (Whalen):

You sure have alot to say. Can we do one issue at a time?

Regarding my comment that if something is not in the Bible is doesn't mean you can't do it, or vise versa......

You completely misunderstood my intent, and then proceeded to jump all over your own inaccurate interpretation.

I was quoting YOUR OWN NON-CATHOLIC members. EX. the Bible does not say I can use a piano in worship; doesn't mean I can't

That's all.

In His Love,

F

"that we all be one"

gotta go, lunch time is over

Fiosh -

I believe it was only in that one thread you were asked not to "promote Roman Catholic doctrine," and that was done so because it distracted from the purpose of the thread. So, it's OK to debate the subject in a thread designed for debate!

I might add, the mod who spoke this seems to have a sensitivity to this area.

Which leads me to my post.

I was speaking last weekend with two friends who used to be Roman Catholic. They were both sharing their experiences and why they "came out of her."

I don't remember all that was said, but these are some of what stick out in my memory.

One said was bothered by the statues.

The statues of Jesus tend to be of a (helpless) baby or of a crucified man, whereas statues of Mary are of this large, strong mother-figure. It came across to her as if Jesus is portrayed in a weakened form, whereas Mary is dominant.

Why is Jesus not portrayed as the risen Lord of glory at whose name the demons bow?

In her church/mass, they would kiss the statues. She began wondering, "Isn't that idolotry?"

Her other concern was again about the regard for Mary - that you ask Mary to intercede to Jesus for you because Jesus honors His mother and will do her bidding.

Well, doesn't that make Jesus (God) subject to Mary? Does Mary have authroity over Jesus, then?

Both of them expressed the concern about the Catholic perception that Jesus death on the cross was not enough for salvation.

Yes, Jesus died for your sins - but you still have to work for your complete salvation through penance and Pergatory. [Note: the Scripture says: "Work out your salvation with fear and trembling," not "Work for your salvation . . . ."]

According to their Catholic upbringing, Jesus' death was an unfinished work, incomplete, not enough.

Of all the things they (in their words) were delivered from, this was the most precious to them - to know that Jesus has all authority and that His sacrifice was once and for all and that being rooted and grounded in Him is what produces good fruit, not your own effort!

"It is finished!" means "It is finished!"

The veil in the Temple was torn, and we now have access to the Father!

This is what they shared from their own hearts.

Once again we're confronted by a whole world "wondering after the beast." Sad, but true. The CHRISTIAN REALITY BASED ON THE WORD OF GOD is that there is no such thing anywhere in the settled Word of Truth, the Holy Bible, about a Roman papacy....a pope who "succeeds Peter"....the Christian Church with "an earthly head" or a "representative on earth" in a Vatican....a place after death called "purgatory" for those "not good enuf for heaven and not bad enuf for hell"....an "immaculate conception" of Mary.....Mary's "beatification"....the"making of saints" after death instead of becoming one while alive thru faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (ie, the new birth of John Chapter Three)....church officials called "Cardinals, Archbishops, etc."....prayers to Mary in order to get thru her to Jesus....indulgences re getting out of a "purgatory" early....a "confessional box" involving confessing one"S SINS TO A Roman priest....the bones of Jesus' hand on display with a Roman nail still thru it....and on into the night! This is sad from start to finish. The Roman Church viewed on television all this week with its strange

practices and tenets has as much in common with the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (outlined in Acts 2, Ephesians 2 and Colossians 1) as Eminem has with Bill Gaither, which most will agree is certainly next to zero if not zero itself.

It was a tragic and degrading experience to view the apostate church with its conglomeration of Hindu pandits, Muslim imams, Buddhist exponents, Jewish rabbis, and clerics of whatever doctrinal stripe on worldwide display centered around, and bowing before a DEAD man rather publicly attesting to everlasting salvation thru the LIVING Christ of God, Jesus the Righteous One and the world's only Saviour! Indeed, Revelation 13 talks about "the whole world" following and worshipping a "manufacturered" and false individual instead of the One True Saviour. It's time and past time that America - and Europe - yea the world, got back to the bedrock of Holy Scripture and returned to calling everyone to saving faith in the Son of God. Take a million "Popes" if you care to, and give me one JESUS! "Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life"! AMEN AND AMEN!

Dear brother Arthur,

I am glad that finally I read someone taking a clear position on this abomination that is still going on not only on TV screens but everywhere else...even some evangelists that I respect didn't dare to speak up and denounce this papal scandal and the continual show of worship of man!

Please read my posts..see my position..I am afraid I might be kicked out from this boards if I say all I have seen and experimented personally in the RCC..but I'll take the risks because I think that the time has come to be frank and open about it.

I want just say LOUDLY that I have no ill feelings towards the catholic people and that my desire is that whoever says to be a christian should stick to the clear teachings of The Holy Bible concerning the utmost important subject of salvation,I really don't give importance to the various denominations, but I care if anyone believes in Jesus and declares that JESUS and only JESUS is THE ONLY WAY to THE FATHER.Because whoever believes in JESUS,THE JESUS of THE BIBLE is my brother and is my sister..and as such I will love him/her and respect even if fellowships in a different denomination than mine..but I feel compelled to intervene when people promote another Jesus, another gospel, another Spirit.

Yes,because this is what is happening now, everywhere, and so many are falling for it...and this makes me sad but also stirred in my heart so that I must say what I know from the Bible and that's it!

I am italian, born in Abruzzi 105 kms from Rome and lived in Rome since I was 4 years old till the age of 44.

I am 56 now and live in australia.

As an ex catholic I say that all the roman catholics I have encountered in the course of my life were NOT SAVED..in fact when The Lord gave me the opportunity to preach them the gospel, they realized that were not saved and some by His grace believed and got saved but others didn't believe and stayed happy and deceived in that political-economical-powerful organization called the RCC.

I remember a man (I will not mention his name) that lived in our building. He was suicidial, and so happened that me and my father preached Jesus to Him and he fell literally on his knees and accepted here and then The Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. He became so happy and literally explode of Joy.He worked as a clerck in THE VATICAN CITY.The day after have been to work he came back to us and with tears to his eyes told us that he couldn't follow Jesus, because at work,in THE VATICAN CITY,when they found out that he had become a christian, they told him that to keep his job there HAD TO RENOUNCE the Evangelical Faith!!!OK?Now this is the truth,God knows I don't lie!!!And that was the last time we saw him.

Now,I say to all to this board,if the RCC is "christian" why did they attack this man the moment they found out he really believed in Jesus free gift of salvation?

And what about the time when on the 1st of April 1974,day that the RCC had declared dedicated to the unity and prayer of all the christian I HAD to evangelize a RCC monk in GUBBIO Italy, who was an exorcist, but didn't know Jesus as his Saviour? The man was considered an"holy man" in town,he lived in the Abbazia of THE ROCCA,and with crosses and holy relics was "casting out" demons from a girl that was screaming like you have no idea....after all this ordeal that I saw myself,The Lord gave me opportunity to go to the girl and her family and pray for her delivernce and salvation, which happened by the POWER of JESUS and afterward I evangelized Frate CRISOLOGO,the monk, and he confessed to me that at night he couldn't sleep, but that demons were tormenting him,so then I prayed with him and he got saved!and I managed to give him a BIBLE cause the poor man in 60 plus years of his life NEVER HAD READ A BIBLE and didn't have one!!!!

How can people in the RCC get saved when the RCC doesn't preach salvation in Christ?

How can this dear catholic people get saved if they follow popery? They call JPAUL2 "GREAT" and they want make him "SAINT" by popular demand!!!I mean, have we lost any capacity to discern the Truth?

Well,Alexander was called GREAT too but he was not saved...and so CharleMagne..but in Italy also ROBERTO BAGGIO a famous and adored soccer player is defined and acclaimed GREAT but BAGGIO is a Buddist,by his own declaration!!!!

I have no doubt that JPAUL2 was a clever clever man,an atlethe even,a poet,a writer,a philosopher,a "great brain" indeed, but he worshipped, adored, revered THE MADONNA....He said that THE MADONNA spared his life when they shot him,not JESUS,THE MADONNA saved HIM,do u know what I mean?

The world is going mad!

Sad sad stuff!JPAUL2 was defined"sweet Jesus on earth" and he anteponed THE MADONNA to GOD!!!

I would love to take my dear brothers and sisters of evangelical faith in Italy and show them what really goes on there in the RCC..I bet they would raise up the shields and start to preach the gospel with a renewed zeal so to save at least one of those dear RCC adepts and proselytes!!

I stop for now...but I ready to answer in love and truth to anyone that really wants to know stuff I have personally experienced countless times there....

I owe my salvation ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY to our wonderful TRIUNE GOD,THE FATHER THE SON THE HOLY SPIRIT and it is HIS GRACE by FAITH and add "NOTHING'...GOD BLESS US,AMEN!!! :(

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
