God has many purposes in His Redemption process.

Any Messianic Israeli student of the OT will agree that there are three things to set right.

The fall, in part aided by the incursion of disobedient angels, and the scattering of Babel. The Lord came to set all this right and to redeem His total creation. That He does not trust the principalities and powers (Archons) of this current age is indicated in Job. Yahweh has a great deal to accomplish. He has a three-fold redemptive process. He desires for us to be a part of this and cooperate with Holy Spirit to get our part of the job of redemption done. He wants willing workmen for several reasons. He desires to include us in His plans in and active way. 

Because we do not read the OT much and focus on the NT, whos writers very often quoted from the OT, the Law and Leviticus, we lost the plot a long time ago. Pastors have been sadly lacking in understanding 'the rest of the story'. Yeshua's 'bible' was the OT.

When it is all settled and redeemed, then the Lord will create new places that can NEVER be blighted by sin and imperfection.
Our current existence and reality are a kind of place-holder for the ultimate in perfection and wonder that will come to pass.

His eternal plan is to have heaven on earth and dwell with His people. He will accomplish this.
