Bless you! There is hope. The first thing I thought of when I read your post was "depression". Depression often rears itself in anger. It is BIG symptom. How about reading the book "Happiness is a Choice" by Minerth-Meier? It has great information about anger - the causes and the cures. You can buy it here: Click here I promise you that book is life changing.

Also, I hate to sound corny, but music is a big part of my life, and this is a song I listen to when I get in the anger mode, and it always pulls me out because it makes me realize how much time and energy I am wasting being angry:

I don't know why I act

the way I do

Like I ain't got a

single thing to lose

Sometimes I'm my own

worst enemy

I guess that's just

the cowboy in me

I got a life that

most would

love to have

But sometimes

I still wake up

fightin' mad

At where this road

I'm headin' down

might lead

I guess that's just

the cowboy in me

(CHORUS)

The urge to run

the restlessness

The heart of stone

I sometimes get

The things I've done

for foolish pride

The me that's never

satisfied

The face that's in the

mirror when I don't

like what I see

I guess that's just

the cowboy in me

(REPEAT CHORUS)

I know there's times

you must have thought

There ain't a line you've

drawn I haven't crossed

But you set your mind to

see this love on through

I guess that's just

the cowboy in you

We ride and never worry

about the fall

I guess that's just

the cowboy in us all

Will be praying for you. Hang in there, you are special. Hang around here and let us know how you are doing. :)

Grace to you,

I agree with Nebula and WIP. Great advice there. :)

May I add that my own personal struggles with anger was taken away when I realized the Lord Truly has forgiven me. I was then able to forgive myself. :)

Anger is my enemy. It runs in my family. Anxiety as well. I agree with WIP it is designed to steal away energy otherwise used for Good.

I might add that the enemy cannot create anything. He can only use the same old tricks over and over again to bind us up and keep us from accomplishing anything at all.

I also believe that when you rise? You should state. I am a Blessed man. I am Blessed in the country and in the city. I am Blessed coming in and going out. I am thankful that I have the Lord's Grace today and I am not an angry man. I can't help but be Blessed and happy today. :)

Do I still get angry? You bet ya. Anxious? Uh Huh. Just now when I realize it coming on? I say,"Ah I rebuke you, my Father in heaven Loves me. How on earth could I be angry in traffic? I have so much better and inheritence than this." I then shift the focus to Jesus.

I begin to sing praise and thank You's to Jesus. Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.

Thank you for your input because a few of you have shed light on some things I've never really looked in to or thought about.  I've been diagnosed professionally with a lot more than just anger.  I don't have the money or the desire to take medication(s) even though it's been suggested of me to.  I am actively involved in various ministries and I exercise a lot.  Part of the problem is I don't take a whole lot of time for myself.  I love helping others but I wonder if it's time to take a step back and rest for a season.  I don't know.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

There was a guy who attended our church (faithfully for a while). He could get so very angry (he also had some very odd mannerisms)!! It was kind of scarey. I worried a little about him being around the kids. I honestly think he needed some medication. I'm not big on doctors handing out medication like candy but I think some people honestly do need it.

I know medications are extremely expensive!! My brother is on some.

It probably wouldn't hurt to rest a little and keep putting tremendous time with God alone.

Do you mean take a step back from helping others / being involved in various ministries? Is that what God wants you to do? Or does He want you to take care of yourself so that you are an effective witness to His love and grace?

And further, if you don't take care of yourself (with medication if you need it, counselling, whatever) then what kind of impression do you think you'll leave with a newer Christian? Or a searching soul? Are you a good Soldier for the Lord if you go around all the time with irrational, unexplained anger?

For the sake of the Kingdom, get the help you need. Prayer is excellent, and so is medical intervention. Both are gifts from God. Avail yourself of them.

God bless,

Enchiridion

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
