EZEKIEL 31:1-18

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?

Behold, THE ASSYRIAN WAS A CEDAR in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.

The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.

Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.

All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.

Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.

The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.

I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.

And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:

To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.

They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.

TO WHOM ART THOU THUS LIKE IN GLORY AND IN GREATNESS AMONG THE TREES OF EDEN? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.

Gen 2:8-9

And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the TREE OF LIFE also in the midst of the garden, and the TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL.

Gen 2:15-17

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

But of the tree of the KNOWLEDGE of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Gen 3:4-7

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, KNOWING good and evil.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to WISE, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they KNEW that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Luk 10:21

At that time JESUS, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the WISE and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do

1Co 1:25-29

For the foolishness of God is wiser than HUMAN WISDOM, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to SHAME THE WISE; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

Rom 8:7-8

Because the CARNAL MIND is ENMITY Against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

1Co 2:14-15

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

Mat 18:3-4

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be CONVERTED, and become as little CHILDREN, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

For those who have prayerfully read this far.........can we see how being converted through faith in Christ, and thus becoming as little children, is a reversal of what happened in the Garden of Eden from eating of the wrong tree?

If this has happened in the GREEN TREE , then what do ye suppose will happen to those of the dry tree.

Tree and trees are all over the bible in reference to men , kings , peoples .

they are .  even moutains are at times.   The trees shall clap their hands .

The waves roaring ,  they are many figures of speech used in the place of peoples .   these are clouds that hold no water,  even clouds

jude uses   phrases like waves roaring foaming out their own shame etc.

In other places trees are actual trees.   like when he says the stock of a tree they cut , part they burn in fire  and the other part they make into a god and bow down.

That is a physical tree.     In the garden they ate from a physical tree.  but it also makes note that the TREE of LIFE was in the garden too.    The only

tree of life I know IS JESUS.  If we really just love the Lord we will in time be easily able to tell when its telling of literal tree or things , versus

figurative in the place of something .    IN the mean while we speak of such things may all remain calm and not attack.

Let us reason out calmly the truth .

YES WE CAN SISTER.    YES.   the tree of life HAD BEEN IN THAT GARDEN  as well.    they had not eaten of that tree

they ate of the Tree God had said NOT TOO.    but notice GOD had never said YE MAY not eat of the TREE of LIFE .

OH after they ate of the tree of knowledge .   HE cast them out and made sure they had no way to eat of the tree of life ,

NO ,   IT was KNOWN to GOD before even the world was made , predestined by HIM that IN CHRIST would be the savoir of the world.

God knew that even before he formed man .     KNOWN to GOD are ALL THINGS .     But let not the clay say to the potter why did you make us as this

Rather understand that ALL THINGS were made BY GOD,  and the key is..................FOR HIS GOOD PLEASURE .  HIS .  AND HE IS WORTHY OF ALL  HONOR .

LET the created PRAISE only THE CREATOR.     AND PRAISE GOD that in CHRIST we are made new and now are and have been made

to worship GOD by Christ who is within us , by Spirit and in truth.     Rejoice in HIS MERCY and worry not why we were made with a free will to choose to obey or disobey

Rather choose by Christ TO OBEY.     SING IT PEOPLES .   And if this is hard to understand ,  no worries .     SO long as we have CHRIST we saved .

that is what matters .

I'm just going to take this at an easy pace and see where it goes........Yes, there many many references to trees in scripture as allegories for persons or people.  As well as references to literal trees, absolutely.  I'm mostly looking at the allegorical trees for now....because it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that trees can be an allegorical or symbolic reference to persons in scripture.   One thing that is interesting is that scripture can be talking about both real trees and allegorically at the same time.  I'll just post some here in case anyone wants to consider these examples....and there are a lot, even though this isn't all of them, and keeping in mind that trees can refer to either the righteous or the wicked:

Lev 26:4

Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Deu 20:19-20

When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down (FOR THE TREE OF THE FIELD IS MAN'S LIFE) to employ them in the siege:

Only the trees which THOU KNOWEST THAT THEY BE NOT TREES FOR MEAT, THOU SHALT DESTROY and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued.

Jdg 9:8-15

The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us.

But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

And the trees said to the fig tree, Come thou, and reign over us.

But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?

Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us.

And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us.

And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.

1Ch 16:33

Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.

Psa 96:12

Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice

Isa 14:8

Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

Isa 55:12

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Isa 61:3

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Eze 15:6

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Eze 17:24

And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it.

Eze 34:26-29

And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

And the TREE OF THE FIELD SHALL YIELD HER FRUIT, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.

And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.  And I will raise up for them a PLANT OF RENOWN, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.

Rev 11:4  These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

Job 24:20

The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and WICKEDNESS SHALL BE BROKEN AS A TREE.

Psa 1:3

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psa 37:35

I have seen THE WICKED IN GREAT POWER, AND SPREADING HIMSELF LIKE A GREEN BAY TREE.

Psa 52:8

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

Psa 92:12

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

Mar 8:23-25

And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.

And he looked up, and said, I SEE MEN AS TREES, WALKING.

After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

FRUIT and SEEDS

Fruit in scripture can of course be literal……and/or it can be allegorical for works, character, or WORDS….as in the fruit of the lips.  Seeds are words.....when someone eats fruit in the bible in an allegorical sense they are eating seeds/words…….either truth or lies.  So here below are some scriptures about fruit and seeds….which establishes the fact that there are allegorical references in the bible regarding fruit and seeds.....which come from trees.   Notice in the gospels Jesus spoke quite a bit about two kinds of trees……….corrupt trees and good trees.  Corrupt trees bring forth evil fruit/seeds/words……lies.  While good trees bring forth good fruit/seeds/words…….truth.   Word/seeds have the ability to reproduce after their own kind.

Gen 1:12

And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding FRUIT, WHOSE SEED WAS IN ITSELF, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Gen 3:2-3

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

Gen 3:6

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Psa 21:8-11

Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

THEIR FRUIT shalt thou destroy from the earth, and THEIR SEED from among the children of men.

For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

Deu 22:9

Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.    (ie, no mixture of truth and lies)

2Ki 19:30

And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

Psa 1:3

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psa 21:10

Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

Pro 11:30

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Pro 12:14

A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

Pro 13:2

A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

Pro 18:20

A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

Pro 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Sng 2:3

As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and HIS FRUIT was sweet to my taste.

Isa 10:12

Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the FRUIT OF THE STOUT HEART OF THE KING OF ASSYRIA, and the glory of his high looks.

Isa 57:19

I create the FRUIT OF THE LIPS; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.

Hos 10:13

Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten THE FRUIT OF LIES: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.

Hos 14:8

Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.

Mat 3:10

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Mat 7:17

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Mat 7:18

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Mat 7:19

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Mat 12:33

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Mat 13:8

But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Mat 13:23

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Now I want to try and make the case that the Assyrian of Ezekiel 31 (v.2) who was a tree in the Garden of Eden (v. 18)is the same Lucifer/Assyrian spoken of in Isaiah 14.......and see if it fits........please compare the OP (Ez. 31) with Is. 14 below.  And also keep in mind that Jesus/Messiah is referred to as  the "Branch" elsewhere in scripture, ie, a tree in other words (of life)......similarly Lucifer is called an abominable branch (a tree in other words) below:

Isa 14:3-26

And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.

The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?

Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

But thou art cast out of thy grave like an ABOMINABLE BRANCH, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.

I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

That I WILL BREAK THE ASSYRIAN in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

You loved sister .    the trees are used figuratively as men .   Is this not something amazing .   i too have read that part where JESUS first healed him

and he said I see men and trees walking , then the second time he restored his sight back to normal.   ONLY JESUS DONT MAKE MISTAKES

THEIR was a purpose for why that occurred.    Its not like JESUS slipped up and was like OH no , here let me try again .   NOPE the man was seeing in the SPIRIT  realm.

Yeah.   JESUS don't make mistakes .    You be blessed sister .

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
