In my opinion, the greatest Witness a Christian can have to the world, and to the Church is how they live their lives.  Both keep a close eye on a professed Christian to see if they "slip" and do something unChristian in any way.

For the world, this gives them the chance to justify their living in disobedience to God by saying..."well, look at him..."

For some in the Church, this gives them the chance to feel more righteous and pious, and this does happen.  Sometimes even on Christian Web Sites...... :)

When anyone judges the value of Christianity on what a Christian does is to discount God, and Jesus Christ.  They are the EXAMPLE that should be followed, not a Christian.  We are human, and subject to "slips."  Living a Christ-like life is a day by day, minute by minute struggle.  I say "struggle" because the "world" is always trying to pull the Christian away from their walk with Christ.  If our faith is in Him, He will give us the strength to overcome the world, for HE overcame the world, and sent The Comforter to abide with us and provide us the needed strength to do the same.

(some Scriptures)

Ephesians 4:1-6 - I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Romans 12:1 -I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.

Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

James 1:22-27 - But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

James 1:19-20 - Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Ephesians 4:32 - And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

...and let us remember...

Hebrews 13:5) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  6)So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

God bless.......

The world, the Flesh and the devil i would add.

Yes, it is real and at times real tough that you feel hopeless. This is the plot of the enemy, to wear down the saints to deny Christ.  A believer must persevere under the brutal conditions, trials and temptations that would come against them.  The developed countries has the creature comforts for a man to live comfortable , what about the believers in the poor countries that has to endure the trials and the hardship of daily living.  We has to lift them up in prayer and keep the faith and let our lamps shine brightly on the lampstand at all cost.

One of the parts of living a Christ-like life is sharing the Gospel!

So, I agree........

And, we do need to pray for all Believers, and all the lost as well......

I just didn't hear it mentioned in the OP...mainly being an example.

I know in the workplace you are watched like a hawk once they know you are 'one of them'. As soon as you 'mess up' all of a sudden they become the Christian 'Gotcha Police'. lol, but I am quick to retort, "That's why I need a Savior'.

Yowm,   I honestly don't care what the common man or kings or presidents or the pope says about ya .     I loves ya .     Now raise those hands and praise the Lord .

we just going to be hated , but we forgive those who persecute us , we refuse to conform to their ways and by grace we just let the LIGHT OF Christ shine

for all to see.   And if it costs us all in time ,     Its just the gain of knowing Christ .    SO leap up and shout them praises to the LORD .

But you should also see the true peace and joy these persecuted poor ones have .   their joy IS real , their peace is real and they have something that most have lost .

Peter could sing n prison so could others .   WHEN the ONLY HOPE we have IS CHRIST ..................one is gonna SING and that is a fact .   so leap up and praise the Lord .

I should have stated that in the OP.  Sometimes, I just think people will realize that in order to live a Christ-like life, they must be obedient to Him.  That includes The Great Commission.  :)

....... as well as in China, South America, Russia, and many other Countries.  Christian persecution knows no borders.

Prayer is needed for all.  Both Christians and those who are persecuting them.  As hard as that is, and I struggle with it, Jesus told us to pray for them.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
