Slim, there are many today that are claiming to be a christian that aren't. They at one time in their lives gave lip service to God that many they confessed Jesus as Lord only with their mouths but the scripture also says in Romans 10:9 that if we confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts we will be saved. Your spiritual condition  is between God and yourself God knows you better than yourself and He knows if you are serious in your commitment to Him. There are people setting in church pews today that will not see heaven. That statement riles some in the church but God's word is true there are goats sitting in with the sheep in our churches also works will not save you we can be good all we want to and the fact of the matter is if we mess up just one time thats why we need Jesus to save us just one sin would warrant judgement in our case just as the Bible says all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. When Jesus truly saves you you want be the same i know when He saved me He changed me the things i use to do listen to and watch I could no longer do them and enjoy them without God convicting me. So Slim you need to examine yourself and ask yourself was i serious when i surrendered my life to God or was it just lip-service

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Reading your post all of a sudden made me nervous. Really, sometimes I think I'm a Christian, and then I get this feeling I'm not a true one and it goes back and forth. How do I know?! I said that I believed in Jesus and confessed and did everything..but to some people here it seems that believing is not enough. You have to completely change in some, and I don't know how to do that. I was really serious when I first tried to become a christian..but then I drift away from christianity every couple months and it gets irritating. I end up always starting over! So really I'm just confused right now.

After getting saved you have to be born again.

Scripture? Getting saved is being born again.

The Bible says that unless we are born again off water and the spirit we do not get to the Kingdom.

Water being water baptism.

Sorry, incorrect. The water being referred to is the physical birth which is accompanied by water (see the Greek word "gennao"). This is why Nicodemus was confused when Christ told him this in John 3, because Nic was thinking physical re-birth...but Christ was speaking of spiritual re-birth.

Now if you buy a car.

Sure the car is yours.

Unless you have a routine to maintain it.

Unless you buy gas for it.

Unless you pay the instalments for it.

Unless you pay your fines and pay for parking.

You will render the act of buying the car redundant.

If you need to do all these just for your car.

Does it not then makes sense that you will have to put a conscious effort, into your eternal Salvation in Jesus Christ.

You have just equated the gift of salvation and the purchase of his soul by Jesus Christ...to the purchase and maintainence of a car. Bad analogy. You have just taught a works-based salvation.

Faith is what we belive.

Grace is what is given by God.

Sorry, wrong again. Grace is how we are saved through faith ....which is the gift of God. Read Ephesians 2:8,9 again. Niether faith nor grace are of ourselves.

How then can one say that Faith is not from us or anything we do ?

Paul said it.

"For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

." Romans 12:3

"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." Romans 10:17

God gives us faith, and our faith grows by hearing and meditating on the word of God.

Is not Hearing something you/we do ?

Does it happen without us initiating it ?

No then yes. See the conversion of Lydia in Acts 16. Verse 14 says, "The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message". Also, it's the Holy Spirit that gives us ears to hear the message. If faith is anything to do with ourselves or what we can do, it nullifies the entire point. If you can muster it up on your own, why would you need Christ or the Holy Spirit?

I am saying Grace comes from God, Faith comes from our actions.

Which is wrong. You have it backwards. Our works are BORN OUT OF FAITH. Our actions follow and prove our faith...not the other way around.

Obedience comes after the heart change.

The problem with slimshady (and anyone who doesn't stay in God's word) is that he isn't feeding his spirit. His spirit is starving. The other thing.....if you don't have a hunger for the word and to spend time with God..this is cause for concern. Those who are His..WILL produce fruit...and WILL have good works. These things don't get you saved or even aid you in salvation...but they PROVE that you are saved to the world.

Remember, works and good deeds are not things we do to show to God, He already knows who are His. These things are to be evidences to the world.

RECEIVE CHRIST.

We must trust Jesus Christ and receive Him by personal invitation.

THE BIBLE SAYS...

Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door,I will come in to him and dine with him,and he with Me. Revelation 3:20.

But as many as received Him,to them He gave the right to become children of God,even to those who believe in His name John 1:12.

...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Roman 10:9.

Get serious with God. God willn't be mocked.

This is just beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ. To deepen this relationship you should:

1.Read your Bible every day to know Christ better.

2.Talk to God in prayer every day.

3.Tell others about Christ.

4.Worship,fellowship,and serve with other Christians in a Church where Christ is preached.

5.As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.

GOD BLESS YOU.

Hello Slim ShadeyJB,

I want you to know you are still my brother in christ and you are still saved.

There is a scripture I would like you to remember to help you remember you are loved and wanted.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.

God is not limited to our boundries. He works by putting reminders out for us to remember His love for us.

He knows Satan will speak a message to you, causing you to doubt you are saved by love for eternity so you will forget the reasoning God and you worked out together to let Him love and save you.

I suggest you spend some personal time, reserved in prayer to talk to Him personally so you can let God into more of your life and thinking as He will lead you through having a holy relationship with Him

Satan does not want you to have this. Enjoy what wonderful things You are about in Christ.

In His Love,

GentlesoundGS

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
