1Co_2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Everyone gets the fire.  Even the Apostles:

Acts 2:3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

You see the Holy Spirit is Spiritual FIRE.

Where is your scripture to back that up?

Matthew 3:11  John answered all of them: Behold I truly baptize you in the days of repentance, but another comes mightier than I, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to unfasten.  He will baptize you with the fire of the Holy Spirit.

Philippians 1:6

Being confident in this very thing that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it unto the day of Jesus Christ.

Oh the testimony I'd give on just this one verse that God (not of myself) brought me back from the brink in time. This verse combined with Luke 15: 11-32 are very special to me personally; the power and promises God made to each of us whom accepted Christ as their own personal Lord and Savior.

If God does nothing in vain and God is all powerful, then can He get everything He desires?

Seem so per scriptures:

Isa 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

But what if He couldn't? How could you be sure in Him?

That's a very tough and difficult question to answer. It would require understanding of the Lord's omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotent, etc., which we with our limited understanding can't comprehend. God has a 'perfect' plan from the very beginning for His purposes, pleasure, family and glory. So the answer IMHO is a Yes and No answer.

Yes: Romans 8:28 (KJV) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

No: 2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
