Quote Nebila,

Why do you confuse . . .

repentance . . .

bearing fruit . . .

"seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness" . . .

"taking up your cross daily and following [Jesus]" . . .

with "observing the Law"?

because he doesn't know the true meaning of repentance. Repentence is not just a change of mind, it's also a change of heart, direction and attitude.

After an altar call or whatever, you can't just say , thankyou for coming into my life Lord, and all you forgivenss and promises, but I can't take up your cross today, because I've promised the boys I'll go out on the binge and I can't let the boys down. Thanks for saving me though.

Repent, repent repent. or perish.

Jesus said it, not me.

Scripture's testimony is that repentance is "change of mind"-the LORD God repented. The context determines of what you are changing your mind.

"true" repentance-Regardless, "true" is a subjective term, as opposed to the objectivity of what was already done by the Lord Jesus Christ. And this is not "good news"N

"it's also a change of heart, direction and attitude."

This is service=sanctification=your walk, and is not the basis of justification.

"you can't just say , thankyou for coming into my life Lord, and all you forgivenss and promises, but I can't take up your cross today, because I've promised the boys I'll go out on the binge and I can't let the boys down. Thanks for saving me though."

And who said that? Only grace can teach you what to do/not to do for SERVICE.

The old "license to sin" argument", and judging your righteousness in comparison to others, which is the wrong standard. The proper/only acceptable standard is the righteousness of God, and we all fall short of this on our own, and this righteousness can only be obtained through being justified by faith in what the Lord Jesus Christ already did("good news", by defintion, is that which has already happened)- 1 Cor. 15:1-4.

This "you can't just say , thankyou for coming into my life Lord, and all you forgivenss and promises, but I can't take up your cross today, because I've promised the boys I'll go out on the binge and I can't let the boys down. Thanks for saving me though." mindset, is referred to as the "way of Cain"(Jude 11)-religion-presenting what you do(your service, either positively or negatively) as a basis for acceptance by a Holy God, despite the fact that the Holy Bible's testimony is that no amount of "lack of binging, taking up your cross" will justify you-only the work of the Lord Jesus Christ, and Him giving His life as a propitiatory sacrifice for you, and not you giving him your life(service), and His resurrection, will be accepted.

I say "thank you for what you already did for me 2000 years ago". I don't say "thank you for saving me-now, how much do I owe you in service?", just as I do not ask someone who has bestowed upon me a gift, "How much do I owe you for the gift?" I will not insult the grace(gift) of God.

"true" repentance-Regardless, "true" is a subjective term, as opposed to the objectivity of what was already done by the Lord Jesus Christ. And basing your justification on such a subjective criteria is not"good news", it is bad news.

Yes, and Moses, David, Paul were all murders. Sin is not just wrong doing, but wrong being. See previous post. We do have a license to sin, but we do not need that license-we do it naturally.

I have been justified by the grace of God.

In Christ,

John M. Whalen

Sorry it took this long to respond.  I was at the lake for 3 days.  Here is the question I still have then.  At some point in my life I take Jesus as my savior, repent of my sins and I am on fire with the love of God.  My Faith and my works show this to be true.  I go many years solid in my faith to God.  But then I slip, and I slip some more.  and then I find I am committing some terrible things.  Can you loose your salvation?  If this is true then there is "Mortal Sin"  (salvation jeopardizing sin).  If it isn't true then once I have Gods grace, all sins don't matter, because they are already forgiven,  I think when we are committing (salvation jeopardizing sin) we close the door to God.  God didn't close it, we did!  We bind ourselves in the guilt of sin and we walk away from God and his grace.  We as humans have a very very difficult time forgiving ourselves.  God knows how to forgive; we don't do it well especially to ourselves.  It is at these times, when we are in salvation jeopardizing sin that we must confess our sins WITH another human being.  Only then will we open the door and except Gods grace.  Otherwise we keep the door shut.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
