In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God singled out one class of people that He would listen to. God said, “ If My people which are called by My name...” In the context of God’s promise to Solomon, God’s people would have referred to the nation of Israel, the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Today, this applies to those who are called by the name of Jesus Christ. This applies to those “sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints” (1 Corinthians 1:2), called to be God’s holy people.

An angel told Joseph that Mary would have a son conceived by the Holy Spirit and that he should “call His name Jesus for He shall save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). Today God’s people are faithful Christians who have been saved from their sins by trusting in the name of Jesus Christ for salvation.

If you are not one of God’s people, the first thing you need to do is become a child of God by trusting Jesus as your savior.

 2 Chronicles 7:12-14

12 the Lord appeared to him at night and said:

“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.

13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people,

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

These things took place at the time Solomon dedicated the Temple in Jerusalem.

The Lord God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob and the Israelites spoke those words to Solomon, concerning the Nation of Israel as the Lord spoke to Solomon the King of the Israelites.

It was only between them and their Covenant God. It has nothing to do with us the believers in Jesus Christ as we are in the New Covenant and our sins are forgiven when we believe in Jesus Christ who die for the forgiveness of our sins and we are in Him in His Eternal life and in his righteousness by believing in him and the Israelites did not have that which came with Jesus Christ and had their sins forgiven with the sacrifices done in the Temple by the Priests.

Therefore the promise applies to both Israel and the gentiles.

"If my people will humble themselves, theI will" it is a quote from the Chronicles 2 17:12-14 as posted a post above.

At that time the people of God included only the Israelites who were in the Covenant of Sinai with the Lord God.

And they were spoken from God to Solomon.

And many Israelites had turned to Idols. These words were spoken about the Israelites who were worshiping the Idols.

God called the Israelites who were worshiping the Idols his people. This is something to thing about, and in this context God spoken these words to Solomon.

And in that context God was calling them to repentance. He was telling Solomon that I will forgive them if they forsake the Idols and turn to him.

God wanted them to know that he will not do to them what he did to some of them when he killed them when they worshiped the Golden Calf. Specifically God said that for the Israelites who were worshiping the Idols during the rein of King Solomon. That context is not calling the Gentiles to repentance and the big issue it would be it has to be of how did they repent, what they had to do that can be counted as their repentance.

That of course it is not a similar way with the believers in Jesus Christ who they repent in Jesus Christ name and not in the way of the old Testament who had to offer sacrifices in the Temple and oblige them selves to ceremonial cleansing laws.

We repent to Jesus who died for the forgiveness of our sins and who is alive forever more and we are his people and he is alive that's why we repent to him.

They did not have the Slain Lamb of God the Israelites had the sacrifices in the Temple and the Gentiles had none. Because God was the God of the Israelites and we today we worship Jesus who is the Savior of all people in the world. The Savior for both Jews and Gentiles and everyone is grafted to Jesus Christ and the people of God before Jesus who died in the Old Testament had to be included in Jesus Christ because  there is only one way to the Haivenky Father and this is in Jesus Christ.

So the Gentiles are saved in the same way as the Israelites by being included in the tree of life the tree of eternal life who is the Everlasting Jesus Christ, the only way to the Heavenly Father.

It was appointed from before the foundation of the world that the Heavenly Father will have Children sanctified and justified by the blood of the Slain Lamb of God who is Jesus Christ. Only the children of Jesus Christ have the Heavenly Inheritance after death not the children of the Law. Who were the children of Abraham because they were the children of Abraham and the Circumcision.  Those children did not have the Heavenly Inheritance which came only in Jesus Christ.

This is the wrong thread for back and forth, but there is a similar pattern shown between the golden calf you posted which is carried over by Paul who said they were actually examples for us (concerning what not to do) and a couple other comparable things in the picture.

Exodus 32:2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.

Considering what an earring of gold signifies

Prov 25:12 As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

Out of that came a golden calf

Hebrews says,

Heb 3:5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after

Which brings us back there, "Moses delayed to come down"

Exodus 32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron,
and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt,  we wot not what is become of him.

Which sounds a little like

Mat 24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

And so they begin to "eat and drink"

Ex 32:6 And they rose up early on the morrow**, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

And Paul mentions this same thing here saying

1Cr 10:6-7 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we** should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

He mentions not to be as were some of them, even as idolaters

And John write,

1 John 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Paul says of these

1 Thes 1:9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God

Covetousness is idolatry

Col 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence,
and covetousness, which is idolatry

Col 3:6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.

Similarly between the two, they are made to drink here

Exo 32:20 And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strowed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.

And drink here as it pertains to his wrath

Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb

If only those golden earrings remained in their ears

Prov 25:12 As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

Versus

Col 3:6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
