I don't really care if a party says it will ban abortion if they are killing other people instead. All that means is one is deciding whom it is acceptable to kill. I don't really care about patriot movements, flag worship or jingoism. I also do not believe you have been designated by anyone to decide who is and is not a patriot. To me a patriot is someone who strives to work towards what is best for their country. Warmongering, besides being against God, is the very opposite since it kills thousands and ruins lives. Not to mention the distant secondary issue of economic drain. At the end of the day though all people are equally children of God and it is therefore pointless to have undo pride over the fact one was born here and not there. What the bible says about violence: Matthew 26:52 52 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword."' In other words, God doesn't care any more about 'murica then any other nation. He sees us all as one, therefore Christians should do the same. As an aside, when I see people snarking about "the libs/liberals/progressives/leftists/socialists" I tend to tune out anything they have to say since it is a prime indicator that the speaker is a right wing ideologue. While I am politically active I don't really care about left/right or liberal/conservative. I care about what is right by voting and conducting myself in a way that promotes what I believe are Christian values. If something happens to fall on the "leftist" or "right wing" spectrum is irrelevant to me. Some nice secular quotes about patriotism: "The love of one's country is a splendid thing. They proclaimed President Trump was being mean to illegals by having the border guards empty bottles of water left by some so the people would not lack due to thirst. The media is of course very left and bleeding heart. BUT, they forgot to remove the video time stamp. It was taken during the PREVIOUS administration. Let that sink in a minute. I completely agree that the mistreatment of detained children cannot be entirely blamed on one person. But there is one person that has had years to do something about these sub-standard detention arrangements and has not. I do not care what happened in previous administrations, it cannot excuse what is happening now. I generally disapprove of womanizing, xenophobic, self-delusional people that refuse to listen to experts and claim Christianity for the sole purpose of building a voter base. The supreme court cannot reverse a prior decision unless one can demonstrate said decision was made in error, otherwise new law has to be introduced.
