Imho the above verse showed that God was speaking to somebody (Abraham) who lived at that certain time (2100 BC). The Roman destroyed Israel in 70 AD and almost totally annihilated the Jews at the Bar Kothba rebellion in 120 AD but Roman flourishes until now. Edited April 22, 2019 by R. If correct then who are the people who call themselves 'Jews'? Also who were the people who for several centuaries lived in the land of Israel current occupies? In God’s infinite wisdom, Israel’s rejection of Christ became our (gentiles) chance at salvation. We are the Body of Christ. Israel will be dealt with once we have come in full. Just look at the UN. The whole world hates a tiny country. I’m grateful the USA stands with Israel. That’s why we are blessed.
