John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

To see the kingdom of God a man must be born again.

The kingdom being spoken of is the prophetic Davidic kingdom on earth, in which Christ will reign along with the believing remnant, the Israel of God (Exodus 19:5-6 Luke 12:32 Psalm 22:28 Galatians 6:16).

To enter into the kingdom a man must be born of water and of the Spirit. Israel had to believe on the name of Jesus; believe he was the Messiah, the Son of God (John 20:31 1 John 5:13). Jesus is saying that Israel had to repent and confess their sins as a nation and be water baptized and receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).

The Holy Spirit under the fulfillment of the new testament will cleanse Israel with water and put a new spirit in them and cause them to walk in his statutes, keep his judgments, and do them (Ezekiel 36:24-28).

Jesus in saying "Ye must be born again" speaks of the nation of Israel.

It is for ALL of us, the New Testament Church...

1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Has God stopped calling? I say emphatically NO!

God bless!

While Jesus came and spoke to the Jews, his message is addressed to every living person.

There are no God given labels that say this bit is for Jews only or this is for everyone.

As far as God is concerned we have all sinned and need salvation.

It boils down to there being two types of people on earth.

The saved and the not saved.

All the saved, whether Jew, gentile, barbarian, slave or free are Christian.

Those who are not Christian, who are not saved are lost, condemned because they have not believed Jesus. It does not matter who they are. They need to respond to Jesus.

Well, I wouldn't quite go along with that....

Matthew 15:24 (NKJV) But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Now after His death, burial, and resurrection, the situation changed.  Especially at Acts 10.

Hello

1 Peter 1:23 is being addressed to Israel as seen in 1 Peter 1:1

Acts 2:38-39 is also being addressed to Israel as seen in Acts 2:22

The remnant of Israel are the ones the Lord shall call (Joel 2:32)

Respectfully Doug,

Acts Chapter 10 blows your theory out of the water.

Who directed Peter to go to Cornelius’ house, Cornelius a Gentile - God did!

What happened at Cornelius’ house?  While Peter preached, the Gentiles received the Holy Ghost just like Peter and all the others did on the Day of Pentecost, in Acts Chapter 2.

What did Peter do right AFTER the Gentiles received the Holy Ghost, “the Bible way”?  -- He COMMANDED them to be baptized.

Thanks, and God bless!

Hello Footprint

First of all Acts is a transitional book detailing the diminishing of Israel and the dispensation of grace revealed through Paul

God always made provision for the Gentiles to come to God through Israel (Exodus 12:48)

Cornelius was a devout Gentile (Acts 10:2)

Peter was baptizing the Gentile believers after the manner preached at Pentecost because the gospel of the kingdom was still being preached in Acts 10. The gospel of the kingdom was the earthly Davidic kingdom for Israel. There were always Gentiles who also believed this gospel.

The gospel message has NOT changed. And it is for WHOSOEVER will, regardless of who OR what they are. Jesus rent the veil in twain AND broke down the middle of partition. It’s now "saved" or "lost". One God. One Church. One Plan of Salvation. One Way - and it is strait and narrow, which few find. NO OTHER WAY!

Also Paul was sent to the Gentiles. And after some years he went up to Jerusalem to make sure what he was preaching to the Gentiles by revelation was the same as what the “foot print” followers were preaching. And it was.

God bless!
