To see the truth of the statement;

~I can do nothing with myself.~

To be brought to the place, where as plain as the heart that beats in your chest, to know and see this truth inwardly;

~I can’t make any real and lasting changes in me. Sooner or later with the right circumstances and pressures, I will resort and return to my own sin, as much as I may not want to, I will, because that is that which I am in and of myself. To have tried and failed over and over again, but to no avail. As tight as you might tighten down the willpower screw, failure and falling into sin invariably happens.~

So to God one cry’s;

“Lord I can’t stop sinning by myself”

(This is a most blessed place)

Than when the heart is truly ready to give up all of itself to death, rather than sin. God opens the truth of;

Our being crucified with Christ, of our deaths in Christ.

To see that only, by our death we will truly be freed from the us that would willingly choose to sin.

Death to us is our only hope.

Death to us, death to all that was born out of my mother’s womb. Death to the life that Adam fell into.

Death to me. To see that all that would want and choose to sin, was taken with Christ on the cross, and put to death with Him.

Than the faith of the heart turned to this truth;

“it is no longer I that lives but Christ that lives in me”

The faith of the heart that would grab onto this truth with all of its strength, will most certainly by experience learn to walk in newness of life.

Blessings,

Much love in Christ, Not me

How do you make your heart ready?

You can be willing, you can stay wanting it.

For it is something that God has to bring about in your life. But you can be willing, and that is the only thing that you can do. But thank God it’s the only thing He asks out of you.

Just stay, asking, seeking, knocking and these truths of what your salvation in Christ consists of will be made real in your life by experience. For all these truths have to be learned by experience, for that is the only way you will know that you know.

Than your heart will rest in such a joy and peace in Christ all else will fall by the wayside.

Just don't stop wanting it, ever!

Knowing that God is more willing to give you the increase than you are to want it.

Just keep feeding your personal relationship with Christ to the best of your ability. However your heart calls you to it.

Blessings as you purpose in your heart to be all His.

 Much love in Christ, Not me

Also I might add, you have to be brought to the place where as I said in the OP you would be willing to actually and truly die than sin. When sin becomes that detestable to you, that you would willingly give up all of your life to death, to be freed from this monster called self.

Keep pressing in, for these truths are for all that would want them with all their hearts.

Blessings as you search into Christ that you might know.

Much love in Christ, Not me

Christ has freed us from sin. We are no longer slaves to sin. We can still sin and will fall at times. But we can yield to righteousness. It's a daily walk. We are being renewed in the knowledge of the image of christ. Put on the new man. The old man was crucified. Each day yield to Gods will. Day by day.

Yes, absolutely, it is a moment by moment walk. It is a moment by moment reckoning ourselves dead to sin and alive unto God.

It is a moment by moment relationship with Him.

May that relationship grow moment by moment.

@Always a Moon

Hi, I was thinking it might help to know that the Divine Nature being birthed in you is what your salvation is. And the growing to maturity of this life/nature can not be done by any hand of man. It can only grow at it’s own pace. That pace is up to the growing that God gives. We can, and should plant and water this new life in us. And this is done by getting to know Christ Jesus personally. It is by way of your one and one personal relationship with Him will all growth come by.

Hope this helps a little. ??

Blessings, and may all good things come to you through your knowledge of your God and Creator.

Much love in Christ, Not me

@Not me

Yes, it is helpful. I oscillate between knowing God has to transform me and knowing that I have to choose the righteous path. Setting aside the old life is difficult, and I have tremendous guilt when I sin as I never did before. I hate the sin! I will keep pressing in, as you suggested.

This thread is a blessing. I too believe the hatred of sin is paramount to the Christians life.

It requires hating the old self who was selfish and self centered.  In the 9th grade I wondered what kind of a Christian am I, that I would stare at a handicapped person, watch them fall down and not run to assist them?  Where was my empathy and compassion?
