When the son gives a few words at the funeral, he tells how his father welcomed the fiance into the family, how his dad accepted his homosexuality etc. Presenting it as something to be accepted.

Ah, the preemptive banning, not based on anything that took place but on what might happen.

The gay son was singing and it is presumed that his fiance would be attending. I assume the son would also be giving a few words. In all of this, it would appear to be condoning homosexuality if the funeral was held in that church.

So.......if an unsaved person is attending the funeral and singing? Would that mean that the church is condoning the unsaved?  I mean should each guest attending be a born again Christian or else they are not allowed to attend? Just how far should we go with this?  I mean sin is sin right? A straight person who is unsaved is just as much of a sinner as a gay person are the not?

I think the church can’t allow open and obvious sin. We all understand everyone sins. But open and obvious can’t be allowed. We cannot be proud of our rebellion against Christ

Okay so therefor anyone who has not accepted Christ as their savor and living for Christ is not allowed to attend a funeral at this church. So we we understand each other here.  That is what you are saying.

If the church charges a fee to do funerals like a business, I can foresee real legal trouble, especially if there was some sort of contract with no clause for immoral behavior.  If they were doing it for free as a ministry, that’s a different story.

Bakeries charge a fee. The bakery still won.

This is about the first amendment. They can refuse to do a funeral for whatever reason they want.

Actually, it explains why you do the preemptive cancellation. It's why bars don't allow guns.

We dont know what was said between church and son. Perhaps the son made an issue out discussing his fathers acceptance of his homosexuality.

If an unsaved person is glorifying living with unmarried girl or shows up drunk then refuse them too.

Doesnt the church have the right to refuse them?

As the old saying goes, just because you can do something, does not mean you should
