Life struggles. Lack of sleep. Rebellious children / teens. Marital problems. Psychological, medical, or emotional issues. The list goes on and on. I generally keep a pretty tolerant nature and try to have patience with those around me, but I do overreact at times. I feel guilty almost immediately. I will usually try to take a moment to meditate or pray in order to focus on what's most important - to love and serve the Lord. What do you do when your patience is running thin, or you overreact?

I live in the country, so I can walk quite a ways without many people or cars around, makes it more peaceful. (cute emoji pictures)

So funny you should post this topic because guess what I am doing right now.... I am unwinding here at Worthy from a very long and stressful day. This is a great place to relax and fellowship with people who love the Lord! Another thing I love to do when I need to “get away” is to listen to Christian music. Sometimes I combine that with a walk or yard work. Pulling weeds is a great stress-reliever! I enjoy those things, too. I hadn't thought about pulling weeds as a stress reliever, but I now realize that you could be on to something.

I'm happy to read that you found ways to relieve the difficulties you were going through, and current pressures. With prayer & reading the Word, I am always reassured to know that God still loves me regardless of my poor behavior.

Really though, life has a habit of throwing us some "curve balls" and what I'm endeavouring to do is to address my reactions in those times. I naturally go on the "defensive" and retaliate, (a human condition), but as my Dad would say to me, "what would Jesus do?" We would be all the better for adopting a "Christlike attitude," take a moment, before we answer, take a breath, and learn to answer as Father would have us to do, lovingly, just saying, God bless. People, especially loved ones with whom we feel secure, can certainly "push buttons" to get a strong reaction. Being defensive is definitely human nature. I know I need to be more aware of being pushed to the limit, before I overreact.
