I think there is more to the story about who he is and who he knows....

What kind of mother who says her 13-year-old is "deathly afraid of strangers" just "drops him off" at a fairground completely filled with random strangers? A guy gets killed because he had $3 on him, or gunned down for wearing the wrong color shirt in the wrong place. I even watched a Dateline where this man got sniped because he reasonably dismissed the killer from his frathouse two years previously for making a joke about sleeping with his girlfriend. The killer seriously waited for two years to get revenge for something stupid that he himself caused. I wouldn't fret about this guy's slap on the wrist. He'll get his. It is a right to have weapons but there are responsibilities that go along with that, and when you violate the laws we do have, it puts our freedoms in jeopardy. We have the right to carry weapons here but you don't have the right to use them except in very strict circumstances.

There are even more heinous cases of child abuse than this.... although it's horrible what happened to the above boy. Here, six years ago, an 8 year old boy was severely abused and tortured over a long period of time by his mother and her live-in boyfriend. I can't remember all of the abuse but it was horrendous!! They even made him eat feces and cat litter, and they burned him with cigarettes. He finally died with severe injuries from a beating. What made it even worse was that the boy's teachers made about 60 reports to the social workers at child protective services!!! They did nothing!! The social workers went through criminal trials for not rescuing this poor child and for his resulting death. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2017/03/23/an-8-year-old-boy-suffered-horrific-abuse-now-four-social-workers-will-face-trial-for-his-death/

I didn't feel like eating breakfast anyway. I also don't see how this is relevant to the story I posted.

It's relevant because I am showing child abuse is not limited to a certain segment of the population. This is another child that died recently here, even younger, four years old. I recall you want to be a social worker....this is the type of situations you might encounter. Hopefully your social services for children in Canada is better. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2019-07-24/dcfs-palmdale-boy-death-noah-cuatro-child-abuse

I'm a psychologist working on a degree in Clinical Psychology. The reason I posted the story was because it highlights what I consider to be escalating right wing violence. I'm well aware that child abuse is epidemic in the United States and most of the world. My specialty is in family estrangement plus emotional and religious abuse. I am likely switching to treating PTSD. Edited August 9, 2019 by PinkBelt

That is a myth perpetuated by the media. The dayton shooter wanted to vote for elizabeth warren, praised socialism, claimed to be a democrat. Kids thrown off balconies by strangers, neither one of which was right wing. Etc. Much of the left wing violence has been downplayed in the media. The narrative is to blame right wing folks. The reality is that people of all ideological backgrounds perpetuate violence.
