A "politician" (not) who addresses this troubling issue. As you may know, the Dems have not addressed it. Well, actually, I am only 99% sure they did not deal w/ this topic at the debates. I didn't watch the debates. I had better things to do. I knew Fox would force one of their employees to watch cnn and/or whatever other lib channel had the debates.. so.. whew! Glad I don't have to sit there and listen to it.. Yes, i say this at the risk of being called narrow minded but you know... (apologies for setting aside the homeless issue, albeit only for a time...) There is only ONE right or valid party in the US and that is the R party, which has been taken over by Trump so I guess it is now the Trump party but whatever u call it, that is the only valid party in the US (I will get to the homeless issue soon) The R party is the only party for intelligent people and people with morals. I mean, the D party is just wrong on just everything or virtually everything. Every now and then, i have to admit, they make some valid point or criticism of the Rs or whatever but for the most part, they are.. I don't know.. the word Ridiculous comes mind.. but it is worse than ridiculous. Their policies destroy the US economy. Example: Obama raised the US Debt more than all previous presidents before him--combined!!!!!!!!! I could go on and with example after example but I say: watch the news.. not fake news and you will see it plain as day.. assuming you want to see it. And even if the Dems were to magically become.. I don't know.. economic geniuses who could do even better than Trump... ha ha, what a joke that is.. I would never vote for them. I have heard the President speak of Mental Health issues and that is a big part of the homeless problem.... It would be nice to know that the originator of the thread is thinking.... Oh well. How I am doing is right now I am living by faith. It has been a rather stressful summer. But I can't go into it all right now. Anyway, I did look up some info on Trump's homeless issue but have been unable to find just what it is he has in mind to do. While I disagree with most of Trump's ideals, if he can do something to address the homeless issue that would be great. A lot of homeless are Vets and that is just not right. Rent should not be so high that working people can not afford housing. That is the case in many cities. You have working people who live in their vans and go to work everyday, but can't find affordable housing. They would move to a cheaper city but then it maybe away from the work that they do. I myself have seen WAY more homeless people wandering the streets and sleeping on them.. than ever before. For one thing, you should not have to be wealthy to afford a roof over your head. I think they (not necessarily govt but someone) should build rudimentary "shelters" so that all can have a roof over their head, esp in bad weather. I don't even say it should be free. But if it were low-cost.. and then the wealthy landlords may have to compete to make their places more affordable.. if they knew that people could get housing for say, $200 a month or what have you. Some have severe disabilities and have to subsist on SSI You know how they have coin laundry? they should maybe have coin operated shelters or something.. put in X amount of money and you can sleep in a "cell" like thing.. not nice enough to make it a permanent home but a way to get out of the weather. Prisoners have a roof over their head and some live very well, while law-abiding but poor people who cannot afford the high rent.. are miserable and in danger of heat stroke or frost bite.. something is not right.
