So here is the thing about great religious leaders: Some gain their fame by telling people the truth. Others gain their fame by telling people what they want to hear. One must be careful what he allows himself to believe.

I don't know much about Joel Olsteen but I am really turned off by his beliefs which I guess can be summed up in the words Prosperity Doctrine

The Lord blessed Billy Graham with the ability to tell people what they needed to hear.

2 Timothy 4:3 (KJV) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

That's okay. Joel Osteen isn't and never will be a great religious leader.

A wolf in sheep's clothing; one of the ten top richest religious leaders in the world along with Joyce Meyers. Purpose driven life and prosperity gospel types.

yes, he taught the truth (except one time I belive he said some deceased person was in Heaven when no one knows that kind of thing save God himself [and the deceased, of course]).

Btw, he once disliked Catholicism, but changed over the years. I don't know much about that change but--just glad he didn't turn into one of those raving anti-Catholic... whatevers

he can't take it with him.

where he is likely headed, all that wealth will not be able to get him out. No, I am not saying definitely he is on his way to Hell but from what I know about his teachings, he is NOT a true Christian.

None of them should be famous. They should be humble and afraid of too much admiration and praise.

I wouldn't fault Billy Graham for his work.
