This is just like reading the differences in commentary on Genesis 1: 1-3 in my Thomas Nelson and Scofield KJV study Bibles and elsewhere :D

Guess no one uses the older Bible commentaries like Scofield anymore.

Try a few of these sources to sift through.

Personally, I avoid Calvin. He was brilliant, but I can't endorse his behaviors nor his conclusions.

Just clarifying, @omega2xx....  Are these words from your quote of @Dennis1209 actually your words?  Your own words should be typed outside the quote box so that you don't alter what someone else said.  I know this can be confusing for a newbie.  :)

Anyway, if the above quote is yours, who are "they"?  Thanks.

Everything in the quote box is from something I read somewhere, many, any years ago. I don't remember who said it.  In the next few day, when I have time,I will look at    couple of sources it may have come from and if I find it, I will let everfyo9ne know.

I am computer challenged so I have probably make many mistakes in my responses.    It seems that every forum has a different format.

Love, peace. joy

Computers are great, so fast to do everything, until that fateful day when they go to sleep permanently and lose everything. Then it's days to reload everything back into the new computer. But, it's better than scanning something out of one of my books, save-copy-paste etc.

I agree, Dennis. I have had a huge library of books, but moving here and there made it difficult to keep them.

At this point, it doesn't matter much but for this forum.

The Word is alive. I do still profit some from looking at different texts and the accumulated understanding of the saints through the centuries, but it is not required. The scriptures and the Paraclete is sufficient.

One of my weaknesses has always been study--in that it can be at times unmoderated.

This was the reason the Lord took me through that exercise some years ago when he had me spend a bunch of time thinking about what I believed and just how I came to believe it.

The result was a relatively few important things that He had taught.

I have been and remain, in the natural, far too proud for my own good.

Praise the Lord! He is not finished....the Author and Finisher.  Yes--we have read the last chapter.

:-)

So ALIVE and DENNIS. I have a huge library too that I have put together over the years. I'm deep into my Greek word studies right now.

Have either of you studied the "OLIVE TREE TOPIC or TYPEOLOGY" that includes Christians being grafted in to the NATURAL  or the CULTIVATED olive tree and what the benefit that is to the believer, and the position that puts him in as a follower of Christ?

I am not familiar with this. Please explain the underlying principle of this study.

I will honor your request and do my best.
