Of what importance Is the Temple today?

Some of the things that they believe will hapen at the coming of the moshiach:

ingathering of the exiles

restoration of the religious courts of justice

an end of wickedness, sin and heresy

reward to the righteous

rebuilding of Jerusalem

restoration of the line of King David

and restoration of Temple service.

Many of these have come to pass and they are in the works of doing some of the others, getting them in rediness.

All in His timing, praise the Lord.

Do you not believe that what the Jews are doing ARE in his timing, that He has brought them back according to his promise and these things must happen?

Is a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem important today? What would it mean to you? Many know that the Sanhedrin has been reestablished in Israel, they believe that we are living in the time of the coming of Messiah and it will be they who determine who he is.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

No, I don't think a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem is important today. God does not dwell in a temple made with hands.

"However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says: 'Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. What house will you build for Me? says the Lord, Or what is the place of My rest?" Acts 7:48

I believe we, as believers, are now the temple of God.

"Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." Ephesians3:19-22.

"Or do you now know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" 1Corinthians 6:19

We are God's temple. If some Jews in Israel want to build a temple, it will not be for the God of the Bible.

In Christ,

Greetings,

There are two Greek words that are interpreted "temple" in the NT. "Heiron" is the physical temple of which is said "no stone shall be left unturned" AND according to Daniel 9, it shall remain desolate. The other word is "Naos" which is in reference to the innermost part of the Temple which includes the Holy Place, and the Most Holy Place. All references to the building of the "temple" in the NT is Naos.

Now, I do not believe that a physical temple shall be built and besides the verses above, we find that the "tabernacle" and "Solomon's Temple" which are both "types" of the NT "temple", and they were to be "built according to pattern". So it would have to be the "heiron" which would be built, and there are absolutely NO reference anywhere in the Bible that it would be built again in the last days.

The reference to the AoD standing in the temple, is in reference to the Naos. Christ's body, you, if you are a Christian, and the Church is the Naos on this earth, which is in reference to the Holy Place. The Most Holy Place is in Heaven right now. The AoD is the "antichrist spirit" which shall come upon the apostate in the latter days.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

interesting, DadE. How do you view Ezekiels temple, the one that shouldn't be measured without because it is polluted?

Greetings Zayit,

Ezekiel, to me, is a real puzzler, but I believe it points to Jesus, perhaps during the millineal reign. All I can do is refer to Hebrews 10 where it would appear that it conflicts a whole lot with Ezekiel's prophecy.

The Lord just hasn't given me any insight into it and no one has adequately explained it, or at least so that it was made clear to me.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Dad and Carolines excellent points.. Thanks. Furthermore, your statements go well with the fact the new covenant deals with the laws being placed upon the heart.. where as they were kept in the Ark of Covenant or beside it. Besides the Lord always exists within in mankind....

Isa 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

amen. the temple was destroyed as result of them not believing in Christ as the messiah. It remains the symbol of the church turning away from God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
