What is your definition of faith? " You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone" James 2:24

Faith in God is trust in God.

Yes. Faith is a verb and means putting belief into action. Faith without acting on it is no faith at all. It's what James meant when he posed the question: ""if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? James 2:16-17.

We are justified by God THRU FAITH, without  works..... without any.

And why is that?  Because we are "saved by GRACE THRU FAITH, this is the GIFT OF GOD."

Salvation is a GIFT, and you dont ever work for a GIFT.

Jesus did the WORK on the Cross, He alone EARNED OUR SALVATION FOR US, that  we receive by FAITH.   '"faith is counted as Righteousness".

Titus 3:5

"""" Not by works of righteousness which we have done, ******** but according to GOD's mercy = HE saved us,***** by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost""".

Philippians 1:6   """ Being confident of this very thing, that GOD which hath begun Salvation in you,  will Himself perform it until the day of Jesus Christ""

So, be careful that you are not believing that you are to keep yourself saved by your effort, by your works, as if you believe that then you have rejected Christ and are now your own savior.  Which is impossible for you to do.

And if you teach that you are KEPT SAVED by works, then you have denied the Cross, insulted the Grace of God, and you'll find yourself under a curse.   Galatians 1:8

So, certainly we are to continue to live a Holy lifestyle that reflects that we ARE SAVED, but we are not to ever believe or teach that by this lifestyle we are keeping ourselves saved, as this is heresy, and it denies the finished work of Jesus on the Cross and insults the Holy Spirit.

Be careful.

Hmmm.....what is your definition of a "holy lifestyle"? If one doesn't display such a lifestyle to "reflect that we are saved" then are we to assume then that we aren't saved? J

No, justification is by faith alone while faith in Christ produces good works.

So by your definition  if someone produces no good works then they have no faith? If they have no faith then can they really be saved?

First it is good faith. Out of that it is good works because you want to be obedient to God.

thx for your question.

Did you take my TEST, that i wrote for you in the Theology Section?

It asks you about "who is on the Cross".

Go take it if you have time, as you'll find it to be quite enlightening..

==

So..

1.) Jesus entered into Heaven "once and for all, having OBTAINED ETERNAL REDEMPTION FOR US">

2.) "faith is counted as righteousness".

3.) ""Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost"

You just read that Christ alone got your redemption for you.  And this redemption, is the "free Gift of Salvation".  "The Gift of Righteousness".

Notice that world "Gift".

So this means..... that all those lifestyle works, (present your body a living sacrifice).... are meaningless to save you, = because Jesus ALONE saved you on the Cross,  thru His death, and resurrection.

So, the questions is.....WHY are you doing those works that James talks about, ........not SHOULD YOU.         See, everyone who is saved for 12 mins knows they are to live right.   All Christians know they are to be holy, and strive to present their life as a holy one that would please God.......but WHY are you doing this is what separates the Grace filled believer from the Carnal Fleshy Legalist Heretic.

See, in both cases, they are doing the same works.  Both are trying to keep the commandments, both are trying to get sin out of their lives...

BUT, if you are doing this because you BELIEVE that if you DON't you will "lose your salvation", then what has happened to you, is that you are no longer Trusting in Christ to get you to heaven, but you are trusting in YOURSELF and your SELF EFFORT to get you to heaven.  This means, you are trying to keep yourself saved, because you are now the one who is on the Cross.  You are now "fallen from Grace".

Someone (a Christian)  who is on the Cross, is trying to keep commandments and live a holy life to STAY SAVED,  and that means that they are no longer Trusting in Christ to keep them saved.

See that?

So, YES< we are to live holy every second we are awake, but its because we ARE SAVED, and its never to try to STAY SAVED by doing it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
