Why Christians should support Israel?

In 1987 my six year old son was killed by a drug using drunk driver. Was this supposed to happen? yes.

I don't think so.....

This was caused by the sin of a wicked person. Someone who was not yielded to God. Did God cause this person to sin? Of course not!

Do you think that it would be right for you to take matters into your own hands and go shoot this guy? ...or let God handle it while you pray for him?

OR do you think that God wants this person to perish because of it? No...we all know His desire is that all men would come to repentance...and be saved.

In the same way, Israel has been punished for turning away from the Lord since before there was a New Testament.

Can you show me where the bible gives christians a mandate to punish them? Yet, we have been persecuting them as "christ killers" for the last 2,000 years collectively.

We don't have to wonder "if" God wants to restore them. He has already said it many many many times in the bible.

Do we allow ANYONE to be persecuted simply for their race? That is not Christ's love either.

Oh, if only christians would read the Word of God we wouldn't be having this ridiculous debate.

As far as the disscussion that started all of this I have to agree with it. As a kid I remember the Love of Christ in the church, and how God moved right in the center of a sermon. People would get healed, Jump up out of their wheel chairs. They would even speak prophecy to the church. In The middle of the sermon. Later I moved away and stopped going to church 24 years later I came back to Christ. I cannot find the same church it has been divided. What happened? Men beliefs Happened.

Just as this article says the point of view has changed. We need to stand up for what we believe in, and if we believe the Bible, then we need to stand up for Israel as well.

You know the church looked the other way during the holocaust, and almost completely cut the lines of communication with the Jewish people. Do you think we should repeat that?

I dont understand this point. shiloh. What country came in to stop the war? America did. Why cause the church got involved.

I have to agree with all these verses that were for Israel. It is Prophecy. most of the Bible is Prophecy. Most of it has already been fullfilled. Espeacially when Jesus Came. As we watch the Prophecys unfolding before our eyes. We should be glorifiying God because of it. We must remember prohecy is not doom and gloom if you are truley saved. The are the Promises of God.

You were right when you said the churches dont preach on the prophecys as they should.

I can't wait to see Israel finally get back the entire country. But I also think that it might take both sides to come to Jesus not just one.

You have to remember Abraham had Ismael, then Issac. Issac got the promise. and Ismael got his promise. They are still brothers and that seems to be more overlooked than anything else. I never hear anyone on either side bring that up.

Why? They need Jesus in their hearts to understand this. But this is my personal belief.

I have seen Palistenians and Jews come together and become best friends after Jesus came into their lives.

In order for Israel to become that nation again, the wars between two brothers must come to an end. If you know Bible Prophecy You know when that is.

The fact that the churches have seperated into different beliefs, it is causing the rest of the world to look at this and say they judge among themselves. I dont want part of that, Or what Hypocrites. I was shocked to see the churches have changed so much in such a little time. People wonder why this country "America" seems to be going down hill. Take a look at the lazy church, and you might find your answer.

I dont see how the Jews would want Jesus if we can't even agree with each other like we used to.

let alone two brothers who are fighting each other see us and say "they fight among themselves". Who wants this Jesus.

Come on Church WAKE UP. The Kingdom of God is at Hand. Let God open your eyes again. Jesus is coming and very quickly. Look at the signs of the times, and read your Bible.

Does any of this make any sense?

You seem to equate the church with America. It was the Church worldwide that was silent during the Holocaust, inlcluding the American Church. There were only a scant few believers with the moral courage to oppose Hitler's madness, and many of them died for that cause.

Furthermore the US did not get involved in WWII to stop Hitler's madness against the Jews. We got involved when America's interests were threatened. The rescue of the victims of the Holocaust, both Jewish and non-Jewish was a by product of our destruction fo the 3rd Reich.

As far as America and its relationship with the Holocaust Jews is concerned, when 12,000 Jews came to America on boats to escape Germany, FDR promptly sent them back and denied entrance, while we were accepting immigrants from other countries and non-Jewish immigrants from Europe. That is just historic fact.

America furthered turned its back on the Jews when they were fighting for their survival against 5 Arab armies dedicated to a war annihilation. Even though Israel was out numbered by an Arab force armed and trained by the British, and even though Israel was in desparate need of arms, the United States (Israel's "ally") slammed an arms embargo on Israel, and basically told them they were on their own. It was only by the hand of God that the tiny nation survived.

Can you see the truth of what I said in these scriptures.

Romans 9:

. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth."

18 Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

19 You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?"

20 But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?"

De 32:39

'Now see that I, even I, am He, And there is no God besides Me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand.

Idied2,

You persist on confusing issues.

What are you saying? That Jews getting killed by terrorists are really being killed by God? That terrorism is really God's doing?

Shiloh I understand your confussion.

I am not confused at all. I am thinking with perfect clarity. The confusion is all yours.

But if you look into the Bible God warned Israel so many times before the holocaust even happened. How many times before even in the torah did israel rebel against God? Take a look again at history.

The first temple was destroyed, Why?

the second, Why?

How many times must the Jews go through this for they to learn?

You shall have no other Gods. Yet we still try to serve others, and that goes world wide. The Jews are fortunate to have Abraham as a father. Because God Loves them so much because of Him. The instant they read the scriptures and see Jesus in there. They will finally see the truth of all things.

God let them loose. The Jews caused the holocaust, because they denied God.

Ah Yes!! The most worn out Christain canard there is!!! "The Jews deserved the holocaust!!" "They had it coming!!!" I see!!! so it was not Hitler's evil that cause the Holocaust, it was the Jews. I am not surprised. We are blamed for all the evil that Gentiles perpetrate against each other, so I guess we should also be blamed for the evil they perpetrate against us as well. So, my unsaved relatives had it coming since they were not saved. They deserved to be gassed and tortured for rejecting Christ.

All of those poor Jehovah's Witnesses, gypsies, the other 7 million non Jewish victims of Hitler's madness, were there because of the Jews!! It was the Jews' fault that they were there as well!! If the Jews had been Christians then those other 7 million would not have been there either, becuse the Jews caused the Holocaust to begin with. I say all of that to show that you have not got a clue about why the holocaust happened. Jews are just a convenient scapegoat for people like you. We are an easy target, right?

Tell me something: when I was getting beat up by "Christian" bigots in Highschool, and getting called names like "Jewdas," I deserved that because I was not saved? I caused that to happen to me? When my parents would get threatening crank calls in the middle of the night, is that something they had coming because they were not saved?

So, according your logic, when a Jewish mother has her baby ripped apart by a suicide bomber in Israel, that is her fault? It is because she is not a Christian, that God decided to "stick it to her," and teach her lesson by sending terrorists to kill her baby?

When people murder and persecute Jews, the Jews should understand that it is just Christ "getting them back." They don't deserve justice, they deserve to be beaten up, tortured, raped, and blown up until they realize that they need Jesus.

Congratulations!!!!! You win the award for the "Stupidest Post on Worthy Boards."

I hope you are proud

You are making assumptions about the causes of the holocaust that you have no right to make.

Only a historically illiterate person would make the ridiculous assumption that the Jews caused the Holocaust. You just do not know what you are talking about.

Yeah I read the rest of what you posted and you still continue to blame the Jews sufferings on the death of Christ. That is just ignorant. "Let his blood be upon us, and our children." Those Jews did not speak for all Jews throughout the centuries and for you to ascribe two thousand years of persecution, inquisitions, pograms, gas chambers, and terrorism to that one statement made by a handful of Jewish religious leaders is just really bad theology. You seem to forget that Jesus forgave them, and told His Father not to hold His death to their account. Yet you say it is precisely becaue of that Jews are persecuted!!! I guess you need to explain that to Jesus!!! When will it stop? When will we stop being the world's scapegoat for everything that goes wrong?

You have got some really messed up ideas.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
