Ok, Mathew 26:59 "Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.

And, Romans 13:4,  "For the one in authority is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God's servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer."

Ok, now if you are not working for governments law enforcement for instance, when can you fight/ignore, etc. and when not to?

Also,

Matthew 5:44

44 [a]But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and

persecute you,

Verses

And 2 John 1:10: If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them.

Also, when can you cut of someone from your life. It’s hard for me to work these things out.

Ok I have just edited to ad: If you are dealing with heavily corrupt authorities, can you fight them, or put the “sword” down?
Is it ok for police to lie, like undercover, etc?

Thanks

When Pastor Richard Wurmbrand was in Communist prisons, he was faced with being forced to reveal information about other Christians. Would he lie to keep them from being beaten or possibly killed, manipulate the conversation away from revealing the truth, or take their punishment upon himself? He did all three, saying he never once gave away harmful information, and said his conscience was clean in every case. Many times he was tortured as a result. The consequences for his lying were great enough. God imposed nothing more.

When Rehab lied to protect the spies, she was learning that there was the God of Israel that she did not know. God did not reward her for lying, but for choosing Him by faith over all the other pagan gods that she was used to.

God understands our intentions and motives of the heart.

Would I shoot an intruder if there was imminent, life-threatening  danger to my family? Yes, I believe so, because it involves more than me? Would I shoot an intruder to protect only myself? The grace that God gives me in the moment would provide my answer.

Ok, I’ll try to be more specific without actual details. Is it ok to fight corrupt authorities with other authorities, where if you do win people will get hurt(legally), or do you forgive all and those continue to run a mock with others? I hope this is specific enough.

I find this thread to be pretty important to my self, because how I act can determine(maybe) whether God forgives me, hence:

That presentation seems to be asking for justification of something known to be illegal but planned already.

My own strong recommendation is BACK OFF. Do not ty to find justification for an illegal act to right a wrong. Instead join in prayer for resolution that relies on God and God alone. BUT NOT TRY to be some self envisioned avenger for God. Leave that to God alone.

I spent two years discussing this very topic. The answer is yes it is, as long as you are not talking about some kind of citizen’s arrest type situation where untrained”authorities” are going after people.

As far as can an undercover cop lie, I don’t consider  their work as lying, but instead taking on a professional role they have been trained for with the righteous goal of stopping crime. That said, I do think you can go too far as an undercover cop, so every situation needs to be carefully considered and prayed about if you are a Christian.

Also, make sure you have a true understanding of what forgiveness is. I asked a pastor about this subject and here was his response to me. It doesn’t directly address your specific question but there may be some useful advice.:

“I would suggest that forgiveness is a separate issue from the communication of information for the sake of accuracy and the safeguarding of others.

The act of forgiving enables  a personal escape from bitterness following another’s wrongdoing. It also releases a penitent wrongdoer from any gratuitous punitive consequences of their actions.

However, some consequences are inevitable and some necessary.

If, as you suggest, there has been misreporting, that would inevitably need to be corrected. If there are lessons to be learnt to ensure others are safer, that is necessary.

These would not, of themselves,  be vengeful, but a responsible use of a difficult, and as you say, damaging experience, for the benefit of others.“

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
