Love God Or Burn In Hell

Actually there is no threat of "love me or burn in the bible". We are all under a sentence of eternal punishment the minute we are born due to inherited sin and the sins we actually commit. We are separated from God and incapable of loving Him due to blindness and hardness of heart.

God offers a solution to this in that He took the form of a man and paid the dept of sin that we owe. The only condition in the bible is that we respond to this gift in faith.

Once we have done that, the viel on our hearts is lifted, and we are then able to love God, because the hardness of heart has been removed.

So loving God is not a condition to being saved from hell. It is a byproduct of us responding in obedience to His solution to our sin problem. Namely faith in the only solution that can save us, Jesus Christ

The way I see it, those who reject God will spend eternity without God.

Yes we must love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. Yes if we don't there is a lake of fire for those who don't. But there is much more to the story. Scripture says that God will baptize is with fire and the Holy Spirit as a free gift. This fire is a burning love for God, His word and His commandments. The Spirit of Holiness sheds the love of God abroad in the believer's heart. It is a free gift, so what is the problem. The Spirit has placed it in my heart. Yes the carnal nature is still there also, so it is a choice, to love and follow God, or love and follow self. As long as I abide in Christ, my love for God is stronger than my natural love for self. No one needs to fall short. You see many 'believers' do not have the love of God in their hearts, so they have nothing stronger than the love of self, sin. They can't even imagine a love of God stronger that the love of sin. If we don't have it we need to talk to God and see what is blocking it for He freely gives it to His children.

ROM 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations (trials and troubles) also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience (endurance);

5:4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed

abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
