You really need to remember that the passage in question was a New Testament passage, written in Greek, not Hebrew.  We were discussing 2 Pet. 3...

The conversation is about the day of the Lord. People like to go to the last chapter in a book but I like to start in the beginning and follow through from there.  Zephaniah 1:14 - Isaiah 13:6 - Joel 1:15 - Amos 5:18 - Psalm 118:24 - Ezekiel 30:3 all talk about 'The Day of the Lord". Don't you think we should take a look at what they say about this day before we offer opinions about what Peter is telling us?

The thousand years is equal to a day is to help us know when to expect the day of the lord. While the day of the lord is a literal 24 hour day - this day has a direct impact on every saved and redeemed person that has lived from Adam to the end of the 1,000 year reign of Christ 7,000 years from Adam. This is the day when the Kingdoms of this world become the Kingdom of God.

All was created in 7 days and in 7 days all will be redeemed and restored. As I said a day is a literal 24 hour day, also a day is symbolic and numerical. That is fine if you want to look at the literal 24 hour day but there is a lot of revelation knowledge in a symbolic and numerical understanding of the Bible. The literal is more for children then as we grow and mature we begin to see and understand the deeper things of God. As Paul said: "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways". (1Cor13:11)

So the Holy Spirit does not cover that too? His own word left to man`s errors? I think not.

God watches over every word we speak. So we have to be very careful what we say. This a problem for me because I like to joke around, but we simply cannot do that.

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." (Matthew 12:36)

Do you use a concordance?

I use bible hub. I look at the different translations, I look to see what the KJV says. I look at the Hebrew and Strongs and I look at the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge to see what the related verses are. I use to use Smith's Bible dictionary a lot but I have gotten away from that on the computer.

So the question I would ask, as in reference to the OP post,

What is a covenant ?,that the Lord made with his people. The said people broke that covenant.

In verse 33 a new covenant would be made and "I will put my law in their inward parts".   Is this future or

Israel was/is  God Chosen people.  Old testament.

You must believe in your heart and confess with your tongue.   If the Lord makes you believe and compel you to confess then yes you are predestined .  If it is of you own volition then your answer .

Jeremiah 31 King James Version (KJV)

31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

The DNA evidence shows that Adam and Eve had parents just like everyone else.

That depends on whether or not we have a high view of Scripture as breathed out by God, a standard Scripture itself demands. Some prefer to read evolutionary theory and other scientific preferences into Scripture. Either way, saying "Adam and Eve had parents" is a direct contradiction of God's Truth — false teaching. Jesus taught: "...from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female" (Mark 10:6).

Adam was the first man; he was formed first (1st Corinthians 15:45; 1st Timothy 2:13). He had no parents.

In the wider context here online, true believers must be careful how they interact with false teaching. We should avoid getting into a fruitless wrangle over words and distracting ideas. Debate can be counterproductive. We can easily “strive about words to no profit” (consider the principle we find in 2nd Timothy 2:14).

I could say this 100 times and I would still have to say it 100 times more: YOU fall into your own trap and you justify or condemn yourself not me by accusing me of what you are guilty of doing. No one has ever shown me a contradiction between Science and the Bible. God gives us both just like he gives us a left and a right arm & hand. This is the deal so let's see IF you can follow what I am saying or if you get lost along the way and go off on a tangent. We read in Genesis 3:15 "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." He is actually talking to the serpent saying that the seed of the women is going to: "crush your head". The seed He is talking about is Jesus. Because Jesus is descended from Eve in the Bible. Even though Mary was the one that brought or birthed Jesus into the world. This was a physical birth but symbolic also as we are all to birth Jesus into the world. During the church age, during the Kingdom age we are to Manifest Jesus.

We have this much going for your argument, Jesus did not have children. Mary did not have any children other than Jesus. We do have the shroud of Turin and it maybe possible to extract the DNA from the blood on the Shroud but right now the Catholic Church will not allow them to run the DNA because they are afraid someone will try to clone Jesus from the DNA Jurassic Park Style. So it could be that Jesus was pure and that nothing else was mixed in. But if you run the DNA on ANY Jewish person today they have a common ancestor at the time of Adam and Eve that was descended from an common ancestor that came up out of Africa around 30 or 40,000 years ago. I do not think I am going to explain anymore of this. People can believe what they want and they can study the science on this if they want. Maybe I should write a book or a blog for the people that really do want to learn and understand what Science teaches us about the Torah that we received from Moses.

I will mention the next step is to look at the 144,000 that will be a witness and a testimony for Jesus during the 7 year tribulation period, if you believe that teaching. That is 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes and the Bible tells us they are pure. This indicates to me that there DNA is pure and they have not adopted babies from outside of the "Jewish" race. Also the Jewish women do not seem to be having babies with non Jewish people. I listen to the teaching they give to young women today because it is free for one reason. So I can see why they keep themselves pure, because that is the way they are taught. I have a niece that went through all of that religious training and she had a confirmation like they do with the boys.  This is similar to the promise keepers teaching they give christian girls where they give them a ring as a reminder to save themselves for their husband. Only the "Jewish" people going into a lot more then just an hours worth of teaching. So the Christian teaching in this regard is very superficial compared to what the "Jewish" girls are taught, esp the ones that are conservative like the Hasidic. The movie "A Stranger Among Us" went into this teaching to explain the special relationship enjoyed by a Hasidic man and women.  There teaching is free so I take advantage of that. They make their money by selling book on more complicated subjects like the physics of light and music and stuff like that. When God says: "Let there be "LIGHT" they will write a whole book on what the word "LIGHT" means in Genesis chapter one. As most of the words in Genesis would take a whole book to define and explain their meaning. They are infinite actually.

Like I said I would have to write a book with a chapter on each of these point. There is no way I can explain all of this on a board like this so you can understand what I am talking about. The media just does not lend itself to going into that much detail. It would be more than people want to read.

What is a covenant ?

A covenant is a legal contract between us and God. If we do our part we can be sure God will do his part of the promise. For example we read in Psalm 37:4 : "Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart."  What do we have to do? Our part of the promise is to: "Delight yourself in the Lord".  IF he is NOT giving us the desires of our heart then we have failed to delight in Him. We need to learn how to do that. I would assume from other scriptures that to delight in the Lord involves have a pure heart before Him. He is not going to give us the desires of our heart if our heart is wicked and defiled. We know if we turn on a light we can see a lot better. So perhaps He shines His light on our Heart to see if your Heart is pure before Him.

This is just one random promise from God. There are many thousands we can choose from. Always the promises of God are conditional. WE have to do our part then we can be sure that He will do His part. That is why they write whole books on how people tie the hands of God. Some people find that very offensive that we could do something that would hinder God from working in our life.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
