You do believe in astronomy, the sun rises and sets astronomy same thing at night. Watches in the night in the Bible is counting stars astronomy, the Bible basically says the lights are for astronomy. the only way to know is by observing celestial objects to know days months years seasons. 

the Big Dipper moves backwards in the night sky the clock face doesn't have numbers but the bigger side of the dipper is the hour hand on the background North Star center everything rotates around it and is a 24 hour clock it’s inline with sun rise to sun set of coarse we can’t see it during the day time but it’s keeping track, Only God can create something like that to observe and track time.

Signs of His creations not on earth. planets are nothing anymore I know but God still created them, comets don’t happen for nothing, even a asteroid He made.

The Zodiac sign stuff and all the other things people place on it is from an actual event. The circular path of the Sun appears to pass in front of 12 constellations through out a year. Guess all the hoopla got a little out of hand then just for seasons.

theres quite a bit of natural things to know about seasons of coarse hot drought cold snow leaves falling growing, unless you lived somewhere the weather was pretty much the same.

I don’t see a before earth, but hills moved lightly, and the cities broke down and formed a pile of formless rumble, trees ripped apart no form, plunged to a nuclear winter by a big rock flying in or a super volcano both would dark out the skies day and night if either happened.

Don't forget a 'null and void' earth.  

When do you see this happening? 

Can't be after Christ arrives as the BRIGHTNESS of His coming would render the shinning of the sun to be moot along with darkness of the heavens, not to mention there will be 'man' and birds (at least the ones feeding on carcasses) and nothing is written about all the cities destroyed of earth destroyed and do you know  His tents are put up in the future?

More likely in Jeremiah 10, there is alot of chapters about the destruction of Judah they where warned before it happened, the people are driven out and become captives, Jerusalem was formless and void of God’s people. no light because God advances like clouds.

Jeremiah 4

11 At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A searing wind from the barren heights in the desert blows toward the daughter of My people, but not to winnow or to sift; 12 A wind too strong for that comes from Me. Now I also pronounce judgments against them.”

13Behold, he advances like the clouds, his chariots like the whirlwind. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us, for we are ruined!

Jeremiah 10

17Gather up your belongings from this land, you who live under siege. 18For this is what the LORD says: “Behold, at this time I will sling out the inhabitants of the land and bring distress upon them so that they may be captured.”

Sorry I should have given a Bible reference Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken"

Because of a dream I had of the bottomless pit I believe this is a reference to a volcano.
