Jesus saves us, we don't save ourselves.....the bible says we didn't even choose Him, but He chose us.   And we know nothing in the beginning but Christ and Him crucified until we start learning the word of God.  But after we are saved we do begin to walk after Him and follow where He leads....and He leads us onto perfection and spiritual maturity, which I believe involves a more complete surrender and consecration than we experienced at the start.

It's clear that Andrew Farley doesn't know what Lordship Salvation is.  It's nothing to do with "maybe you didn't repent enough" or "maybe you didn't commit enough".  It is to do with the fact that, when Jesus saves you, he changes your heart and you now want to obey him.  It's also to do with the fact that you can't split the Lord into two pieces (Lord and Saviour).  Jesus is both your Lord and Saviour, or he is neither.

The evidence that Jesus really is your Saviour, is that you are living with him as your Lord.  This is not sinless perfection, it is simply biblical Christianity.  Yes, we all still sin sometimes; but, the general tenor of a born-again Christian's life is righteousness.

Lordship Salvation is really just the biblical antidote to "Easy Believism", in which you can, allegedly, say a "sinner's prayer", then show no fruit, yet still claim to have been saved.

Thanks for posting this video, Debp. I think it is a helpful exhortation. The Lordship of Christ is a personal matter for the individual to identify with. I have shared many times about how the Lord appeared to me and caused me to understand that I was denying Him by the way I was living. Paul wrote to Titus about this very issue.

Tit 1:16  They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

As a corollary to the subject under  discussion, I believe the Lordship of Christ describes my personal relationship with Him, and the Headship of Christ describes His corporate relationship with the body of Christ.

Of course, we all seek to grow spiritually and walk with the Lord in our daily life.   And we all grow spiritually at different speeds.  The problem is when a legalism occurs.   This often puts a person's mind continually on their sins....rather than the fact that they are new creations in Christ.    Children of God through Christ.   Knowing who and what we are in Christ, and yielding to the Holy Spirit in our hearts is important for our spiritual growth....an inner spiritual growth.

That's true; but why then did you post the video clip, since Lordship Salvation has nothing to do with focusing on sins, and everything to do with a trusting, loving relationship with the Lord?

Why post anything, David1701? These terms crop up all the time and gather momentum until a good teaching becomes overemphasised and misleading. The exhorter in the video obviously defined Lordship Salvation as an overemphasis on the activities of the old self to the detriment of the cultivation and nurture of the new creation.

<sigh>

The point I was making takes into account that the video misrepresents Lordship Salvation, since the speaker clearly does not know much about it.  With this in mind, my question is about the purpose of posting said video.

The speaker in the video does not get to define what he does not grasp.  It would be far better to post a video by someone who does grasp it, like John MacArthur, as a starting point for discussion.

The emphasis in Lordship Salvation is NOT on the "activities of the old self", but on the relationship between the believer and the Lord.  That relationship being one of love, faith and willing submission to the Lord's will; but not sinless perfectionism.  It is an antidote to "Easy Believism", in which the relationship with the Lord can be almost non-existent, and the "believer" can be entirely lacking fruit of the Holy Spirit, or willing submission to the Lord; but he still claims to be a Christian, because he once made a commitment to Jesus, or prayed a "sinner's prayer".  In other words, he claims to have Jesus as Saviour, but not Lord.

My point is about whether what is posted is interesting enough to prompt discussion. Some stuff that is posted seems incomprehensible to me and not worth commenting on, so this post being concise, and relevant in that it exhorts on something that I have had to deal with, I have expressed appreciation for it.

I agree with this post, as far as it goes.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
