The first truth we must learn is the greatest commandment, and with this there is no controversy. From Matthew 22:37-40

  • Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

If someone has fully embraced these 2 commandments, then their view on creation or pre or a millenniumism is interesting for further understanding scripture and God’s plan.

Too many want to first get the details right and miss the main thing. (look at the many mean-spirited posts on this forum!).
If you love others and God and don’t speak in tongues,  you’re on the right path.

If you love God and others and believe evolution or not, you’re on the right path.

When I taught soccer to kids, they all wanted to do the Pele soccer moves, but couldn’t run the field with good control and simple passes.  Basics first!  Let’s love God and one another  (even when posting :) )

The X in Xmas is the Greek letter Chi, the first letter of Christ and used by Christians through history. So it's not removing Christ from Christmas.

I suspect the crossing sign is simply to save space on the sign itself. Personally whenever I see the "X-ing" my mind always sees it as "X-wing" which would be way more awesome.

No apologies needed my friend. We are here to discuss.

Here's a quick topic up for discussion.

Why is it that the word holidays isn't Holydays? Is this an attempt to remove said days from their religious roots?

It will all depend on all parties at hand.

Are the parties at hand communicate with a set of rules known to one another, as an example they use Capitalization to distinguish the value of one from another, is the misspelling a form of communicating a message?

What you suggest it may be taken that way and it will depends...on a number of variables.

Holidays comes as the correct spelling..

Holiness, Holywood, Holy cup, Holy things

This is a Holy day, not only to celebrate something but to designate this Day as a Holy Day, everyone respects this Day for not doing anything unholy.

Among those who follow, not to others or to God...

Within the old it was unto God...

It was an offense unto God....

They represented themselves unto their God...

All other religions have similar customs...Temples, Priests, High Priests, areas for the priests only and the area only for the High Priest...

Jesus Christ was allowed to enter the High Priest area and beyond...He became the Lord and the Judge of all, how strange...

He was Judge worthy to recieved this honor...(whether it is correct to use an (H) or an (h), would not change the fact that Jesus Christ is far above any one else, Lord, or a Judge...

It may be a sensitive issue among the well educated...who have been accustom to pay attention to those details...

There are distinctions to be made as you begin to speak about the Word and Spirit of GOD. There is an anointed and that which the anointed is anointed with is there not?

There is a temporal and formed, and there is an Eternal and life giving.

Back to holiday; it's in the pronunciation it seems. Like a hollybush as opposed to the very Holy Spirit of GOD. a misdirection or distraction instead of a help to focus on the things of GOD....carnal, taking, not giving...

sorry,

peace

Theistic Evolution Refuted.

Evolutionism and the attempt to reconcile it with the Bible is what is known as Theistic Evolution, which maintains God designed the environment and primordial microbes to evolve into all forms of life over millions of years of mutations and death, resulting eventually in the creation of humankind.

The Bible shows that there was no death prior to the disobedience of Adam, so Theistic Evolution is incompatible with the Bible.

God saw that all His Creation was good. Death, both physical and spiritual is God's enemy, so not part of Creation pre-fall when God saw that everything was good. The first animal to die was the one God killed to provide coverings for Adam and Eve, a prefiguring of the physical death of Christ to redeem His People and His Creation from the curse of death.

I absolutely believe in how we read from the Word of God as to how Adam began as a [created] being, not an evolved being from another Species.   But I would also like to point out something to the Author who formatted this opinion towards needing death to sustain life (as in there was [no] death proceeding Adam).

[IF] God had set forth a distinct genetic bond like [Inherited Genetics] and through the process of [Natural Selection] death would not take place.   The only thing taking place are how those specified Genetics are picking and choosing what helps them to develop into the ultimate outcome.

So the person from the Bible reference attempting to disprove clearly did not think his opposing viewpoint all the way through.

And I still remind you, I believe 100% in how we read it from Genesis.   I am just pointing out some serious flaws in the Authors argument.

So Theistic Evolution in disguise . . . Still not Biblical.

When we read that the "seed of the woman, will crush your head",

When was that said?

Before the Devil had taken the only couple from God who had the blessing "to increace and multiply and fill the earth".

The Devil took the first couple from God, but did not fight with God himself.

Adam and Eve and their descendants had put themselves under the authority of the Devil...at Death.

They lived and they can choose to worship God, but at death the one who had authority over them takes them.

(We can see that with the death of Abel)

The "seed of the woman will crush his head", end this authority of the Devil over the human race...

End "the headship of the Devil over the human race",

The Patriarchy of the Devil over the human race, will end.

With the seed of the woman as a Patriarch and only after he was bruised.

"Genesis ----he will crushed his head, but he was bruised in his heel ".

Abraham could not be that Patriarch, God show him that a Son from him would be the promised Patriarch, but not Issac his Son from Sarah.

A Son God will provide.

At the death of Abel God said: The "revenge is mine", and he cut off Cain from him.

But he said: the revenge is mine in his quest to take back Abel from the one who had authority to take Abel from him.

God announce himself as "the seed of the woman" who will "crushed the head of the Devil ", but only after he would suffer death by the hands of his own brothers.  Then he will emerge as the New Patriarch and take Abel from the Devil unto himself.

Fulfilling his promise that he will take Abel from the Devil "end the Patriarchy of the Devil , the Authority of the Human race is given to him, to Jesus Christ.

He has the authority over all the Human race, as he has die for all the human race, for the forgiveness of sins for every one, but not everyone will be with him. Not everyone will believe in him.

Everyone is given and will be given the opportunity to choose the Patriarch of Life first...only those who refuse the Patriarch of Life till the time of their death are given to the Devil, till that time they continually are asked to revisit their choosing and choose Life, to believe Jesus Christ till their last breath in this body. Till their death, their physical death.

As they have met their physical death while in Spiritual death they cannot be with the author of Life, Jesus Christ.

Only those who die in the Life can be with the Author of Life as they are his Inheritance...

We are the Inheritance of Jesus Christ...we believe in Jesus Christ who died for the forgiveness of our sins.

We are not in our sins, we are in Jesus Christ in him..in his righteousness and in his Life.

As he is we are, we are one with him, as he is one with Father, he cannot be separated from the Father and also we cannot be separated from the Heavenly Father...as we are his children in Jesus Christ...

No one and nothing can separate Jesus Christ from his Inheritance...we are his Inheritance.

We are his Inheritance while in  this earthly vessel and we are his without this earthly vessel...

Paul shows us that we are position with him in Heaven.

We are sited with him, in his Heavenly place , the Throne of the Christ of God this is Jesus Christ, we are his family, his children...we are under his wings while we still in this earthly vessel waiting till the time we will be free from that earthly vessel and be with him and the Heavenly Father.

Since "holidays" has been around since the 16th Century, and the word gradually became to mean what in US English is vacation in the 19th Century, I suspect it's just language drift.

Bishops in the UK often sign with Chi = X.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
