I have a book on Biblical Mathematics around here somewhere and when I dig it out I will share some others groupings of numbers.  We must remember that our G-d is perfection, he is the ultimate mathmetician and as such would use numbers to communicate things. But you also should know that in Hebrew numbers are also letters, so there is more than one meaning. Another reason to study the word in its original perfect language.

Thanks! I would be very much interested in this subject as I find numbers interesting and I find God's usage of numbers as fascinating. He doesn't do anything without a purpose.

This is just kind of for fun, well fun for me, anyway, but what do you think of numerical coincidences? Do you think they mean anything? For instance:

My mother died on June 29th and her funeral was July 3rd.

My father died on Dec. 9th and his funeral was Dec 13th.

The address of our first house was 1313. That was in 1973.

The address of our first house here in Rock Hill was 1305.

The address of our second house here in Rock Hill is 2138.

Our next address of our apartment is 2513.

I just find numerical patterns interesting and since numbers are significant in the Bible, I wondered if perhaps these might mean something or if they are just purely coincidence. Either way, I find them fascinating. I notice patterns.

if you are around long enough, you will see that just about every number is corrolated with something or other...... I would not worry about numbers, or how they line up...... some people will not use a check that has the 3 6/'s on it others dont care...... numbers dont bother me, and i do not look into them for answers or question them.....

numerology is not part of what is needed for Gods work...

Mike,

Thanks for your input. I'm not worried and I'm not seriously trying to see how they line up and I don't look into them for answers or whatever. I just find them interesting, and sometimes I wonder if they are just by accident or if they mean something, but this is not something serious here. Remember, I said it was fun. And, I don't mean getting into astrology or anything like that, either. This was just an off-the-wall kind of thing that I thought about and thought was interesting. I am a mathematical kind of person, so I notice numbers and numerical sequences, and I am also a very organized kind of person, so patterns stand out to me, too. I'm not looking for any deep meaning. Hey, you can even make up something funny for all I care. I know, this is not like me, but I was trying to post something kind of on the light side. So, don't take me too seriously, ok???? I just thought there might be other people here as equally fascinated by sequences and patterns as I am. :)

Do you know why friday the 13th is supposed to be unlucky?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That is the day that the King of France attacked the Knights Templar and killed so many of the organization. At least that is what I have always be taught....

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Actually, I believe it has more to do with the ancient belief that the number 13 is unlucky.

There are superstions about the number 13 that go back centuries. For example, some of the older skyscrapers never went past the 12th story. If they did then floor 13 wasn't numbered as such. Many cities do not have a 13th street. There is an ancient superstition that states that if 13 people sit down to dinner together they will all die with in the year. The Turks so disliked the number that it was practically expunged from their vocabulary (Brewers Phrase and Fable, 1894). There are also 13 witches in a coven.

There are probably as many superstitions about this number as there are are cultures in the world. So it's not surprising at all that people have a supersitious belief about Friday the 13th.

BTW: In Leonardo Da Vinci's The Last Supper there are 13 people pictured, including Jesus.

Well, the number 13 has been "lucky" for us. God has blessed us tremendously in all those addresses with the number 13 in them. Everywhere we have lived that has had 13 in the address we have been blessed to have had multiple Bible studies with people where lives were changed and transformed by the mighty outpouring of God's Holy Spirit. So, I don't believe in "luck" or in lucky or unlucky numbers or superstition. I just find coincidences and patterns interesting. I'm the type who counts steps as I walk them or items, papers, etc. - I do it subconsciously. I love solving mysteries. Murder mysteries are some of my favorite movies (decent ones, that is) because I get to solve puzzles and put pieces together and you look for patterns and such and I guess it's just in my nature to notice these things.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
