Weather: Fine & Warm. (21°C = 69.8°F in the kitchen.) Big fireworks display and lightshow at midnight from the Sky Tower and Harbour Bridge in Auckland. Watched it on TV. We are not in lockdown here. People entering New Zealand must stay in managed isolation or quarantine for at least 14 days and complete a health assessment and return a negative COVID-19 test before they can go into the community. In some circumstances a COVID-19 test may not be considered appropriate and a health assessment will be completed instead. There have been 25 deaths from Covid in NZ with 2162 confirmed and probable cases. Currently there are 55 active cases in NZ. Seventeen prisoners from a total of 750 inmates have damaged an old prison block at Waikeria with fire and are in the 5th day of a standoff. They don't like conditions in their block which was built in 1911. Apparently the water is brown from rust, and everything is seriously depreciated. They are being starved out and the building will have to be demolished now that the roof has collapsed. I am thinking 2021 would be a good year for more people to have faith in God. That's all I've got to say at the moment.

You're not really in an igloo are you. @Aimes ? No crowds were allowed at the Sydney New Year event due to recent Covid outbreaks caused by flouting of the isolation laws. The evening news in 7hours at 6PM here will include a round up of world celebrations, but of course not all by then, but I'm hoping we get a live feed of the New York Times Square event in approx. 6.5 hours. I make my dwelling place be as much like an igloo as possible but it’s currently located near a swamp, hence why some call me the swamp penguin. 1

This eve for decades, I'd be out with my drinking buddies celebrating New Year Eve, driving home drunk, and putting everyone's life in danger. During New Years Eve partying and celebrating with my 'friends', I'd make snide remarks like; "people that don't drink, when the get up in the morning, that's the best they're going to feel all day!" We have something to look forward to... By the Grace of God; on November 24, 2016, the Lord took the taste for alcohol out of my mouth [a long testimony]. I can honestly say, I don't miss those days. One way or another, Rapture or Resurrection, it's one year closer to meeting my Lord and Savior face-to-face. And that my friends, is something to celebrate about. I suspect, 2021 will have some prophetic surprises in store for us in the new year? We shall see... I'm now more content to stay at home, reading my Bible, chatting here on Worthy, with a nice cold cherry Dr. Pepper at my side.
