This question has come up more than once in my small group. There is disagreement (or at least uncertainty) about what Satan does and does not know about us individually, and what he can and cannot hear.

For example, one person is afraid that if she prays out loud, Satan will hear it and use it against her. (I don't agree).

Another person says that it is not possible for Satan to know our "thoughts."

Another person says that when we pray in tongues (not speaking in tongues, rather praying to God in tongues), Satan cannot understand it.

Personally, while I do not believe Satan is omniscient or omnipresent like God, I do not take his power for granted and I don't assume anything. I figure he has access to me, no matter what.

The more important thing, is that God is greater, and that through the Holy Spirit, we have power over Satan ... but we don't claim it or use it unfortunately.

Any one else have anything Scriptural I can share with my friends?

Thank you.

You friends should stop worrying about what the adversary can to against them and worry more about what they can do for G-d and what G-d can do for them. This sort of worrying only gives power to the enemy. I've been there, done that and I call tell ya; it ain't healthy.

Dido...tell your friends that Satan is powerful, not all-knowing or ever-present (though many of his demons are), and crafty...but defeated.

God bless.

satan does not know everything, nor can he do anything he wants. He did not know where the body of Moses was buried, and he had to abide by God's wants in his dealings with Job.

There are many Biblical examples that show the extent of the power of Satan, but what it really comes down to, as in the story of Job, is that Satan has no power over us other than what God gives him, and but that the Lord will give us the grace to handle whatever Satan throws our way.

In the story of Peter, the Lord told Peter that Satan desired to "sift him as wheat," but the Lord was praying for him that his faith would not fail, even though he knew it would. In the story of Paul, the Lord allowed Satan to torment Paul in his flesh and Paul pleaded with the Lord 3 times to take it away. The Lord's answer was that his grace was sufficient.

So, I would not worry about whether or not Satan can hear you or read your thoughts, though I do not personally believe he can read your thoughts, because Satan is not going to be able to do anything to you but what God has allowed it for a purpose. Always remember that God is in control. He is Sovereign above all. And, just put your trust in him and focus on him.

 Satan is the most powerful fallen angel- he's not the "ruler" of 'hell' per se ( there are no "rulers" ), but he still is the most powerful being God created- I'm not sure what you mean by "though many of his demons are" in context to being all-knowing and ever-present. Only God is all-knowing and ever-present- no created being is. What do you mean ?

I once heard that satan cannot read our thoughts, does not know the future and that he can only be at one place at a time (is NOT omnipresent)

I heard that his many, many demons (the fallen angels) are everywhere and that satan "assigns" these demons to run around and do his will...

I tend to believe this theory as I believe satan himself is probably quite busy in the Middle Eastern/Isreali area as I'm sure he knows his days are numbered and personally I believe the Antichrist has already been born...

I heard that his demons get to know us pretty well (staying with us for all of our lives) therefore giving them the knowledge that they need in order to tempt us, lead us to sin, and keep us away from God...

This is why it is satan's most controlling, deceitful, tactic to make us believe that we are weak and unworthy and that God could not possibly love us since it is the only time we might not feel that having been given The Holy Spirit and in Jesus' name we are able to rebuke him and send him running.

WE HAVE TO KNOW, BROTHERS AND SISTERS THAT AS CHILDREN OF THE LIVING GOD WE HAVE POWER OVER SATAN, HIS DEMONS, AND ANYONE OR ANYTHING HE SENDS OUR WAY!

So, don't be afraid... We have absolutely no reason to...and don't waste your time giving him much thought, he's already lost his battle...Understand who he is and what he does and...

Keep your eyes focused on Jesus and you will never fall!

Amen brother...however, I do believe that sometimes God allows Satan and his demons to tempt us even after we have rebuked them in the name of Jesus. Although we still have the victory, I believe that God allows Satan to test us sometimes and allows extended periods of assault by the enemy. Just because we say...go away Satan in Jesus' name...it doesn't mean that he will go right away. Perhaps God has a purpose for such attacks that are beyond the believers immediate perceptions. It does not mean that Satan will not go, or does not have to go, or is not defeated...but rather, that God is trying us as fine gold and silver. God bless.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
