On one hand it's kind of upsetting because it's using the death of Christ to try and win a popularity contest.

That was my first thought, too.

On the other hand, Australia really needs a revival and if this could help in any way, shape, or form, then so be it.

Good point!

So, when Paul went to the gentiles, do you think he had a reinactment of the crusifiction? A Jewish Passion play? Or do you think he used only mere words?

Why do people need to be entertained? Isn't the word enough?

Faith cometh by Hearing and Hearing by the................. words of an actor? Watching a play, a reinactment,  No,............ hearing by the word of G-d.

I can appreciate your sentiments, but acting is an avenue that people in our modern times "listen" to. Why not utilize it to preach the Gospel with?

PLEASE FOLKS!!! IT'S NOT HIS DEATH. IT'S HIS RESURECTION!! THATS THE IMPORTANT PART!! And whoever takes the role of Christ is not going to "rise again". And owing to Gibson's sadistic over the top Passion. I would not put an actual crucifiction past him. I hope and pray it does not go that far.

I think it's high time we stop mourning Christ's death. And celebrate his resurection.

Absolutely correct!

Do we remember Why He died?

Do we remember that He rose from the dead?

Do we remember that He is coming again to establish His Kingdom?

Do we remember that He is coming again to raise the dead and that is our Blessed Hope?

Again I misspoke. And this from someone who always got high marks for that in school. With no resurrection there is no salvation. Remember the death, we should. But HIs resurrection should be rejoiced even more so. By the way. Are there any food related rituals for HIS return? I mean we eat bread(HIS body) and drink wine(HIS BLOOD). So what about his return?

So, does this mean you have a problem with songs that focus on the Lord's death on the cross and the sacrifice He made?

Songs like:

"The Old Rugged Cross" (traditional hymn)

"Were You There" (another hymn)

"Via Dolerosa" by Sandi Patti

"Watch the Lamb" by Ray Boltz

"Ride On to Die" by Michael Card

The list goes on.

Remember the death, we should.

Yes, Yoda! :21:

By the way. Are there any food related rituals for HIS return? I mean we eat bread(HIS body) and drink wine(HIS BLOOD). So what about his return?

Isn't that the Feast of Tabernacles?

MAN !!!

why do so many people make such quick judgements to pull down and stomp upon what is of God...

i do not in any way think that this is for "show" or "popularity" man the stench of legalism and over-zelous conservativeness...reaks from some of these responses...

can't anyone see that Christ first had to die before He could rise !!!

if we don't first preach the death how on earth can we preach the life in His ressurection???

and does preaching only come in the form of the spoken word??? if so are all deaf people damned???

come on people...get off your self-righteous horses and look only unto His righteousness...

and if people think that they can find the Gospel in hARRY (bldy) potter...can we not find the Gospel in the Gospel??? :whistling:

Mikey, some ( albeit few) may be worried at what effect this kind of public display will have on biased hearts, will it cause a pogrom for the Jews in Australia? You must understand that The Passion Play is ALWAYS a Charge of Murder against Jews, and does not bring on loving feelings towards them, in fact it only drives them further away from knowing their Messiah.

'Where shall we begin,' writes an American brother, 'in treating the awful truth which is put here in such simple language? Where shall we find words earnest enough to picture the terrible facts in connection with it, and sound a warning for our times? Some time ago a person said, 'The Jews are to-day more stiff-necked and blinder than ever before.' Who has made them thus? Surely judicial blindness and hardness of heart: ears which do not hear, are given by God; but, alas! the nations, or so-called Christendom, have helped forward their affliction; they have made matters worse a thousand times: and Satan, who hates Israel, has been the author of all things calculated to increase the affliction of this downtrodden nation. Surely the cause of the increased stiff-neckedness and the increased blindness of the Jewish people is one which is traceable to the nations. Every reader knows something of the history of the Jews, what it has been since they were driven from their land -- a long, long tale of suffering, tears, and blood. Most unjust outrages have been committed against them: torture upon torture, the stake, and worse than that -- and all in the name of Jesus. It is a shameful history. Many a time Jews, after hearing the Word preached, have stood up and opened in answer this awful book of history with its blood-stained pages, asking the quesiton, 'Can He be our Redeemer whose followers have treated us thus in His name?'

There are over 100,000 Jews living today in Austrailia, 80% of them in Melbourne or Sydney, it is reported the Anti-semetic attacks are up already and this will only help to further that along. The biggest part of the spread of Anti-semitism, is believe it or not, the internet, and if that is already fueling hatred, what will a reinactment do?

Attacks on Jews between October 2003 and September 2004 were 50 per cent above the average for the past 14 years, according to the ECAJ's annual report on anti-Semitism in Australia.

The worst incidents cited included the words "kill the Jews" burnt into the lawn of Tasmania's parliament house and "six million more please, plus fries" daubed outside a synagogue.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
