I personally cannot wait for Christmas. I love celebrating Christmas.

Wouldn't you love to have the cross that Jesus died in front of the Apostolic See? We don't have that, but we have the obelisk. Everytime you pass it, you can remember the price paid to bring the Gospel to us. Not only that, but it is taught that passing it before entiring Church is walking by paganism, symbolizing the leaving of the pagan world behind and entiring what is God's.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

yeah...we could worship it like the jews did with the brass serpent!

Actually that kinda creeps me out.

I personally cannot wait for Christmas. I love celebrating Christmas.

Me too. It will be great to gather with family and tell them I love them. What could be a greater witness of Yeshua than that?

And Hanukkah starts on that night also this year!!! :whistling:

God started it. God created each and every day and the calendars too. He didn't divey up the days to give a few to give to the devil. Why does it seem like this is what you want to do? For the life of me, I can't understand where you're coming from.

No, that is like saying that G-d invented child sacrifice. G-d created days, but He did not create pagan holidays.

You are comparing apples to oranges, with your comparison to child sacrifice which isn't comparable at all because God did NOT create child sacrifice, nor are Christians wanting to adopt it.

I'm glad you agreed that God created days. So it was the LORD'S day first, correct?

QUOTE

If we had no holiday celebrating Christ's birthday, would you look at a calendar first to make sure it didn't interfere with a Pagan holiday?

The only religious holidays I celebrate are the ones G-d gave us. Why do we need more? Moreover why do most seem to be so gung-ho about rejecting those He gave us in favor of those man gave us?

What holidays do you celebrate?

Are you anti Martin Luther King day? Are you anti Independance day?

QUOTE

Would you really care? Do you think that they have certain powers on that day and we should fear that? If yes, why?

No, as I have stated multiple times already, we are supposed to be set apart.

In what way? By allowing them to celebrate on certain calendar days?

QUOTE

Was it their influence that made you change your mind about Christmas?

You have to be very careful who you associate with. Your pagan friends have fallen for lies. Don't fall for theirs.

No, I stopped celebrating Christmas years before I met them.

Do you believe your Pagan friends would like to see the so-called Christian holiday returned to what you believe are it's Pagan roots?

Yes, you could look at it that way, so let us profane by adopting pagan tradition in His Name.

What holidays do you celebrate?

I celebrate the feasts as mandated by G-d according to scripture, there are seven of them. That number does have some signifigance, you may want to think and pray on it.

They are:

Pesach (Passover)

Matzah (Unleavened Bread)

First Fruits

Shavuot (Pentecost)

Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets)

Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement)

Sukkot (Tabernacles) (My personal favorite)

Are you anti Martin Luther King day?  Are you anti Independance day?

As I stated in my previous post the only religious holidays I celebrate....

I am not certain I understand this statement.

Do you believe your Pagan friends would like to see the so-called Christian holiday returned to what you believe are it's Pagan roots?

To be honest, I don't think they really care, they just think it's weird for Christians to celebrate Christmas and Easter.

Again, I must ask a question that has yet to be answered despite my repeatedly asking.

Wh do you reject the festivals given by G-d in favor of festivals invented by men?

Your answer is confusing. You agree that God created all of the days, so they were all His, originally?

I'm not sure where you're coming from. I thought you didn't like celebrating the birth of Christ because of the day it fell on. Am I misunderstanding you?

That's great. No one is going to judge you for that, but why do you begrudge us for God sending us the greatest gift to mankind? I'd rather celebrate Jesus than unleavened bread.

I personally don't reject festivals given by God. I don't know much about them really. Let's go with the feast of Unleavened bread. Where is it in the Bible and what is it about? What date is it on?

Do you celebrate these by yourself or do you celebrate with other Christians?

It is not only the day, but also the traditions associated with Christmas.

Your response here demonstrates your lack of understading regading the Feasts of the L-rd, no offense.

The unleavened bread is one of many pictures of Messiah present in the festivals. I will start another thread in General Discussion about the feasts for this purpose. :whistling:

So it's okay to celebrate Martin Luther King's death, but not Jesus Christ's birth?

No, there is nothing wrong with celebrating ANY aspect of Messiah.

Yes, it's weird for us to celebrate Jesus birth and ressurrection. If they understood it, they'd be Christians and celebrating too.

They understand our desire to celebrate such a thing, it is the way in which it is commonly celebrated that they find strange.

So for you, it's not the date, but the traditions. Is this like Santa or what? I'm not sure which traditions you mean.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It is both. Santa, elves, trees, commercialism, Dec 25, all of it.

I belive that G-d gave us those 7 feasts for a reason. Seven is a signifigant number, oftentimes denoting completeness. I believe that this is an indicator that the feasts we have been given are complete, we don't need any more or any less.

I am purely speaking religiously. I generally do not have a problem with having a birthday celebration or a mothers day dinner, or anything of a non-religious nature. IT is just that I believe G-d gave us all we need with regard to holidays celebrating Him.

I never used the word evil.

Giving and receiving gifts, fine.

Carols, sure.

Family n friends, great.

Church, fine.

Tree, bad.

Doing these things to commemorate the birth of the Son on the same day the pagans commemorate the birth of the sun....bad.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
