Well with all the discussions about false teachers and prophets..etc..

This morning while I was spending time with the Lord I was reading in

Mark 9:38-41

"Teacher," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us."

"Do not stop him," Jesus said. "No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward."

and then there was references to Numbers 11:27-29

A young man ran and told Moses, "Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp." Joshua son of Nun, who had been Moses' aide since youth, spoke up and said, "Moses, my lord, stop them!" But Moses replied, "Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the LORD's people were prophets and that the LORD would put his Spirit on them!"

Well the first person that popped into my mind was Benny Hinn and then those like Him who most.. do this in Jesus name>..

Is Jesus saying that we should not bother them and let them do it ? :taped:

What are your thoughts?

p.s. excuse the typo in the title..:taped::24::wub:

No, we should not "leave Benny Hinn alone." Benny Hinn is a false prophet. He has prophesied many things in the Name of the Lord, and they did not come to pass as predicted. Benny Hinn also claims to receieve direct revelation from God that is not found in Scripture. One of his books had to be rewritten since he taught that that each member of the Trinity was also a Trinity. He had to, albeit reluctantly, edit some of the material to at least make it biblical.

His false teachings and false prophecies taken together tell us that He is not ministering in the Name of Jesus.

Lets not stop here however, for it does go on:

But whosoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. Mark 9:42

Hinn and his ilk has made people stumble, I know several as a matter of fact who have doubted their faith because they weren't getting a 100 fold return. Doubt is a faith killer.

Is Jesus saying that we should not bother them and let them do it
?

I don't believe Jesus wants us to ignore any false teachings, for if we see a brother stumble and say nothing then it is on our shoulders too, if we warn that brother and he keeps doing it then we are free of blame.

Love and Blessings,

Angel

This is very interesting question and one that I've ask about to the Lord.

IMHO I believe that I will leave Benny alone and tell you the truth about his false doctrine.

Ken Hagin, Ken Copeland, Benny Hinn, Paul Crouch and others are casting out demons, praying for the sick and actually leading people to Jesus.......HOWEVER, along with these fine things is false doctrine like little gods.....fleecing the church, promising finacial gain......and an even bigger one, if not the biggest........that the cross of Christ didn't atone for our sins but that is one that's not preach about as much. It's hidden in their books and videos.

Phil 1:15It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16The latter do so in love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.[c] 18But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

without thinking about any modern day situations i tend to think when i read this passage that because in order for a man to cast out demons in the name of JESUS, that man must believe in JESUS. applying that to modern day situations, i tend to think that because we are human and so fallable, we often times pervert the Word and some use it to their own benefit (ie..people like benny hinn).

there are two scriptures that seem to relate to this in my mind. 1: let each one take heed how he builds on it. for no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is JESUS CHRIST. now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, hay, straw, each ones work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. if anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. if anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 1 cor. 11-15

i tend to apply this to current circumstances believing that GOD will test how all men and women have built on HIS foundation. the difficult part is in knowing that all though some of these people do believe in CHRIST, they pervert the Word for self seeking ends. still though, this scripture seems to imply that their salvation might be intact, but in such a way as through fire.

2:some indeed preach CHRIST even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: the former preach CHRIST from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add afflictions to my chains; but the latter out of love, knowing that i am appointed for the defense of the gospel. what then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or truth, CHRIST is preached; and in this i rejoice, yes, and will rejoice. Phil 1:15-18

i tend to apply this in the sense that, yes, some will get it wrong and teach with wrong motives....but CHRIST is bigger than the foolishness of man.

in general we ought to pray and read and know GOD for ourselves on a personal level. this takes care of us falling into false teachings. also while we do not adhere to false teaching and try not to be deceived, we must know that GOD will judge all of our works and words. for all i know benny hinn might really believe in the LORD, but might also be building wrongly on that perfect foundation. still, i think that there is probably atleast one person who has known the LORD through this man's ministry. once the LORD has our hearts HE is faithful to take it from there.

this is all just my understanding of the Word

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
