Show an example in scripture where we are encouraged to 'crusade' against the wrongness in the world

@Alive

To you, do we need an example in the bible, to stand against any and every form of evil?

How do you feel about abortion?

How do you feel about sex trafficking?

God commands all Christians to ‘open your mouth for the speechless…and plead the cause of the poor and needy’ in Proverbs 31:8,9."

In Psalm 82:3, Christians are instructed to "defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy’."

My opinion is that God is instructing Christians to take more firm action against oppression and injustice.

Each and every Christian is commanded to stand up and resist all forms of oppression and injustice, in a peaceful manner.

The unborn child and those in sex trafficking have no voice, and are speechless - Proverbs 31, 8-9 above.

I get it, Arrabon. Is it possible that those things are meant to encourage individual action in the lives of God's people--or as a militant larger group.

Questions:

1. I am sure there were many Christians involved in the January 6 events at the capital. What was accomplised there?

2. How many times have Christians gathered outside abortion clinics? Has that done anything to change the laws?

Mobs lead to violence--what would happen if a group of Christians carrying signs were to move into an area of violence in Portland or Seattle over the last year or so?

Would any good come of that?

We can vote, speak up and educate and be examples of love to folks around us. To be Peacemakers where possible and to live peaceably with all men when possible.

I am offering an alternative way of approaching the evils in the world.

@Alive

You changed the meaning of my post to make me sound like I think Christian violence is acceptable.

I gave you bible verses from God that speak of standing up for those who can't stand up for themselves, again, IN A PEACEFUL MANNER.

You said, "I am offering an alternative way of approaching the evils in the world.

You said show me a verse that says we are to "Crusade

And I offered God's word and what He has to say.

Do we follow your alternative to God, or should we follow God?

You said "show me a verse where we are encouraged to "crusade" against wrongness", and I gave you 2 from God.

i did not change your post--I am discussing contrasting venues in which we may speak out against wrongs and how we may do that.

As I have said already a couple times. Its up to the 'individual' to decide and hopefully under the direction of the Lord Himself.

If a group of protesters of some sort are planning an event, do you just join the frey or do you seek the Lord's will.

Which of us here have joined an organized protest?

How did that work out?

Perhaps you should give it a try....no. I didn't think so.

When we get real and truly consider these things before the Lord and not just in some hypothetical conversation, I suggest a different position may be realized.

These are my thoughts and I get to have them and express them. I see nothing in scripture to suggest otherwise.

Chosen venue. Chosen method. Chosen enemy.

I've read many of the posts in this thread, and I find some of them quite disturbing.

All it takes for evil to triumph is for godly men to do nothing.  Incredibly, there are many Christians supporting BLM, without realising what they are supporting.  They need to know that it's an anti-God, Marxist organisation, so that they can stop supporting wickedness.  It is very unloving to leave them in ignorance, just to avoid possible contention.

BLM is one part of a many-pronged attack, against the Lord and against the gospel.  We need to stand up and be counted.  There is no neutrality.  Silence will be taken as tacit agreement, or, at the very least, capitulation.

Those Scriptures about love, prayer, thanksgiving and leading a quiet life are not addressing what to do about evil doctrine.  Make no mistake, BLM, Marxists, abortionists, the LGBT lobby and atheists are promoting anti-God doctrine.  They are brainwashing the children of Christians in schools, colleges and universities.  They are brainwashing the public on television and the Internet and there must be voices standing up for the truth; in fact, I fail to detect the love of God in those who refuse to stand up for the Lord and the gospel, no matter how "loving" they are, in human terms.

Jude 3 (Webster) Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write to you concerning the common salvation, it was needful for me to write to you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.

2 Tim. 4:1-4 (Webster)

 1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
  2 Preach the word; be diligent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
  3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap up to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
  4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned to fables.

Acts 19:8-10 (Webster)

8 And he went into the synagogue, and spoke boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
  9 But when some were hardened, and believed not, but spoke evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
  10 And this continued for the space of two years; so that all they who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

Thank you, David!  Your post is REFRESHING!  Christians need to find their backbones and overcome being afraid to use them, otherwise they will SOON not be capable of using them!

It was a bunch of Christians all meeting there, holding signs, praying together, singing together...it was VERY INSPIRING!  And some of the cars would go by and HONK in approval....I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
