So, what's the bottom line? I'm an intelligent woman. I've just completed 5 more semesters of college with a straight A average now after 30 years away, but I still don't understand all of this stuff. History, geography, political science, foreign affairs, etc. were my worst subjects in school. So, could anyone kind of simplify all of this for me? I mean, could someone on here who understands all of this kind of give me and others like me a general outline of this whole post plus replies? Who is who and how does that all fit with Biblical prophecy? Does someone have it in the form of a timeline? That would be even better.

Dear Sue,

Well, it's pretty massive, and I'm not sure I can, but I'll try. Basically this thread is about the growing of a new power in the world in Europe. It is a formation of several different countries who have decided to come together and seemingly form a bigger entity than the US, in terms of world power, politcally and economically and eventually militarily. Javiar Solana is at the forefront of this formation of the EU/European Union. We very seldom hear about this on national media, so very few people follow it. That's as much as I can simplify, but I'm sure RT can add more detail. It is a VERY BIG DEAL in terms of prophetically and a one world govt. The EU is now getting very involved in the middle east peace process and much of the middle east issues that affect Israel and US.

In His Love,

Suzanne

I'm with you. :b: I made the National Dean's List with a 4.0 GPA and I don't understand this thread. :24: Then again, I do not follow, or obsess myself, with politics! (Not meant as a dig/jab at anyone who enjoys politics! Just explaining why I don't understand this thread!)

Thank you, tsth! (and Rolling Thunder.)

This thread was just a big jig-saw puzzle with way too many pieces for me (and not much conversation about the articles). I think you did an excellent job giving the Cliff Notes Version, tsth. I appreciate it.

Suzanne,

Thanks so much! I don't know that I would have been able to sum up such a massive amount of information into one single paragraph... in fact, I know I could not. I have a difficult enough time just keeping my own thoughts to one paragraph. That really helps a lot. Now, who is this Solana person? Where can I get information on him? Is there speculation that he could be the Antichrist?

I'm with Keith. Politics has never been my best suit. Hey, I still have to keep asking my husband to explain to me the house and senate and stuff like that. You know us geniuses. We are really great in one or two areas and then we are like dunces in the others. :noidea:

Keith,

You made my day!! Thanks!! :noidea: It's nice to know I am not the only idiot when it comes to politics. My husband and I will sit and watch the news together and he is sitting there saying "yes" and "you are so right," and I'm just like clueless. I have to have him explain so many things to me. I'm also terrible with geography and so I have to constantly look at maps to figure out where places are, too. And, I stink at history, even biblical history. I remember the stories, but often it comes out as "what's his name," or "some dude" or something like that. I know, shocking for a 55 year old woman to admit, huh? :24:

Hi Sue & Keith,

I know this thread is almost impossible for someone trying to start at the beginning. I wouldn't recommend going back that far, unless you want to see how far the EU has evolved in the last couple of years. I never knew this thread was going to be this long when I first began, and I think the title is a little misleading too. I wish I could change it, but I guess I'm stuck with it the way it is because I can't edit the title.

If I could change it, I would call it something like "EU WATCH," or something similar. When I started this thread, those of us in the western world were pretty much in the dark about what's going on in Europe. In the view of End-times Prophecy, the EU is very important. It's the revival of Daniel's 4th beast, the final world empire that will devour the whole world prior to Christ' second coming.

In light of Jesus' command to keep watch, I thought many who follow Bible prophecy would like to keep an eye on that part of the world. Although Bible prophecy can be very controversial in some circles, we should never let this keep us from keeping watch. I think it's very sad that many churches today, have neglected the words of the ancient Hebrew Prophets. There's just no way to properly keep watch without them. The word of God is a light unto out feet, and it guides us in our daily walk. But Prophecy sheds a light of its own, and without it, the church would stumble in the same darkness as the world, but with it, we can know what is coming on this world and what to expect.

2 Peter 1:19 - "And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts."

The Man To See

Last night, on C-SPAN, I was watching British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas answering media questions about Tuesday's conference in London. Every now and then the camera would turn to show the audience. The EU's Javier Solana was not only there, he was sitting next to British Foreign Minister Jack Straw.

According to Blair, the conference was a big success. The entire international community came together in support of the Palestinian cause and the creation of a Palestinian state. He said in the years that he had been involved in the Middle East peace process, he had never seen such clarity in what had to be done to achieve peace.

Besides pledging a huge amount of financial aid, the international community pledged to help the Palestinians in the area of security. In other words, a Palestinian state will be created by the international community -- like it or not.

The conference was held on Tuesday. The next day, Abbas' first visit was with the EU's Javier Solana (Read about it here)>>>> http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/ape...%20Palestinians

That's because, as did the late Yasser Arafat, Abbas recognizes the hand that feeds him.

As far as some EU leaders are concerned, supporting the Palestinian uprising has proven to be a huge success. Now, in the form of a Palestinian state, the EU's foothold in the region is in sight. Before Solana came along, Europe was always on the outside looking in. Now, Europe is not only involved, Europe is calling the shots. Abbas understands this reality. So, Solana was the first man he wanted to visit..

As I've been reporting, the movement toward peace that we're now witnessing in the Middle East is a direct result of Solana's diplomatic skills and foreign policy. It began with the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership for Peace he negotiated between the EU and 12 Mediterranean nations back in 1995. Today it's Solana's European Neighborhood Policy. This is an agreement between 42 nations. It's a revival of the old Roman Empire and a covenant with many.

You see, the reason so many players are now coming to the peace table is because the table is being loaded with all kinds of goodies. And, beginning on January 1, 2007, these goodies will get even better. That's when the EU's next seven-year budget term begins and the EU's new funding instrument will start picking up the tab. Friends, nobody wants to miss that.

Yes indeed, Abbas knows the man to see.

RT,

Thanks! That helps some. I am still confused, but that's nothing new. I do have a question, but I think I will begin a new thread with it.

EU diehards 'ready to gang up' on Britain

By David Rennie in Brussels

(Filed: 01/03/2005)

Plans have been drawn up to create an ad-hoc "core" of countries determined to pursue closer integration, in case Britain rejects the draft treaty establishing a European constitution, it was claimed yesterday.

Senior officials close to the German chancellor, Gerhard Schr

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
