Where did we come from?

Our lean is to think that we are flesh beings trying to live a spiritual live, trying, as a reward, to reach the heaven.  Nevertheless, pay attention to what Jesus said:

•    “Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one *comes* to the Father but by Me.” (John 14.6).

Note that Jesus said “come” to the Father, and not “go”. That is to say, we aren’t going to the heaven. Rather, we are coming back to the heaven. See what David and Paul said:

•    “For whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, for Him to be the First-born among many brothers. But whom He predestinated, these He also called; and whom He called, those He also justified. And whom He justified, these He also glorified.” (Romans 8.29,30).
•    “For You have possessed my inward parts; You have covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are marvelous and my soul knows it very well. My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret and skillfully formed in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my embryo; and in Your book all my members were written, the days they were formed, and not one was among them.” (Psalms 139.13-16).

That is to say: we aren’t a cosmic accident; nor Jesus put us here adrift, delivered to the luck. We are fruit of a marvelous and well elaborated project, concocted with much love. We are heavenly citizens who, because of the sin, we lost our citizenship (Ephesians 2.19) and the worst: our identity. The aftermath: we lost ourselves (see Luke 15.32).

Fortunately, Jesus came to us, find us and brought us back to inside ourselves, where He plan on embedding His kingdom (Matthew 6.10; Luke 17.21), supping with us (Revelation 3.20), edifying His church (1Peter 2.5-8), writing His “living epistles” with His Holy Spirit (2Corinthians 3.3), so that we can be light in this murk world (see Isaiah 60.1).

Abridging: we came from heaven and we are here so that, now, us the manifold wisdom of God may be known by to the rulers and powers in the heavenlies, (Ephesians 3.10). And soon we will return to where we appertain: the heaven. Have a magnificent day being moved by this.
