Salvation

What do you say to someone if they come and say "I am doubting my salvation"... when you know that they have gone forward for salvation before and had said afterwards(without even being ask) that they knew they meant it... not to mention.. this person says that the doubt comes mostly every time a message is preached and they talk about people getting saved.. then it sticks with them all day.. until they get distracted by something.. say.. the cares of the world..

What do you say...?

I know that I had gone forward for salvation before and I know I had meant it that very last time when I was doubting... and now I keep continually doubting it.. I wonder sometiems if I really am or if I am not.. is it the devil or God talkign to me...

Well, if you were the devil, don't you think you're first step with new Christians would be to try to convince them that "God just didn't want to save me" or "It just didn't work for me" or "I didn't feel anything"?

Well of course! That's the devil's job! But he is the liar, and God is true. If God promised salvation, then it's yours!

Well, I do know that the devil is a liar. When we are lost he tells us we are OK...don't worry abut it. And then when we have trusted the Lord, he tries to take away our joy by asking how we can POSSIBLY know we are saved.

The only one, besides the Lord, who knows your heart is you. Talk to the Lord for assurance and then, live it. The Word says "Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." This doesn't mean to work for your salvation, but rather to live it out.

One thing that I have found throughout my life is that to build faith you must live faith. Each time to step out just trusting the Lord, your faith in Him becomes stronger. This goes from the point of salvation through you life to every area.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

In Romans 10, as was noted by an earlier post, it describes how we receive salvation, my question is, have you done this?, and are you trusting in Jesus, and Jesus alone?, are you trusting in his finished work on the cross for your salvation?, do you believe that he died for your sins, rose again on the third day, and sits on the Fathers right hand making intercession for you?. I believe that we all have lapses in our faith, but know this; salvation is not based on feelings, it is based on faith, and faith comes by hearing, so this leads to another question, do you attend a bible believing, bible preaching church? I don

Your thoughts are your thoughts. To straighten those thoughts and actions out to be Christ like you should learn who Christ is and what He wants you to do. A good place to start is to talk to Him in private like He said and ask Him for His Spirit. Who knows you might be one of the chosen that He will actually talk back to.
