Katrina - Message from God

This morning, I received a word from God that I shared with my congregation.

The number 4 in the bible is symbolic...it's a sign of the Messiah, whether it's 4, 40 days, 400 years, 4000 etc.

Katrina hit New Orleans last Sunday night...then...Monday...Tuesday....Wenesday...Thursday....and then on Friday, our government was finally able to come into the area in any significant force to actually be able to do something. That's 4-days (Mon-Thur) of tribulation for the people in New Orleans.

Katrina dropped down from a Category-5 to a Category-4 because of an unexpected blast of dry air at the last moment prior to hitting New Orleans, yet it did the damage of a non-existent Category-6.

During that time, the biggest false god in our world demonstrated its true power in New Orleans....the not-so-almighty dollar. A dollar bill couldn't buy anyone a drop of water....it could not buy them food....it could not buy them gas for their car...it could not buy them safety.

Katrina was a message from God to the world. Prepare yourselves. Repent now and be ready. Prepare your hearts, minds and souls for the second coming of the Messiah. Prepare for the world to be turned upside down. Prepare to wake up one day and realize that the $5,000 in your bank account won't even get you a drop of water. Prepare to realize that no matter what man does, man has no dominion over the forces of God. Man is not in control...never has been....never will be. We are all at HIS mercy. Prepare yourselves....realize....repent now!

Katrina is just a taste of things to come. The church will face persecution in the end times. We will taste these things before God finally pulls us out of the picture to give the world a taste of true tribulation.

God's wrath does not discriminate. When Isreal was tried through tribulations, ALL of Isreal was tried as a nation...including those who were righteous in God's eyes.

Popular Mechanics released an article on Sept 11th, 2001 about what would happen if a Category-5 hurricane hit New Orleans....4-years ago. 40-years ago, in 1965, New Orleans was hit by hurricane Betsy.

God's timing is stamped all over this event. You may ask, why New Orleans? Why not L.A. or some other area? Personally, I think it may have something to do with the fact that our oil refineries that are in the gulf coast area.

Our country has been pulled into a war....and we are losing it.

Our country is divided...look at the last two Presidential elections.

Our country's economy is on the virge of total collapse....the blow from Katrina, the Tsunami in Asia, the unrest in the Middle East....all these events are carrying us into a state of economic collapse. Just a 2% rise in our interest rates overnight and the bubble pops.

We thought 9-11 was a taste of death...but our country did not hear God's message then. Instead, our nation clinged to religion in mass. Our nation is full of pharises, lawyers, hypocrites and wickedness that is a stinch in God's nostril. The vast majority of our nation does not know Christ....or more importantly, Christ does not know them. They are religious...but lack a relationship.

I pray for our nation. I pray for those effected by this disaster. I pray for those who are acting to help those effected by this disaster. I pray for all of mankind that people will wake up spiritually.

The people on the news cry out to Bush. They cry out to our government, the mayor...the governor....the red cross. These people and orginizations they are crying out to are not gods. These people need to wake up and cry out to the one true God to help them.

I pray that our nation wakes up from its slumber. I pray that our minds, hearts and souls are ready for what's to come.

Couldn't it be said that the whole history of a fallen sinful world, that has seen catastrophic events since the garden, is a message from God. I can't see why God is picking on New Orleans. Sure...it has it's bad side but you think God would start with Hollywood. I see it as a mere reminder that we live in a fallen world but not necessarily a sign of the end-times. These types of natural events have been occuring all along. Pompay, Black plague ect..We have always needed to repent. Still, everybody gets an "end-time". Guaranteed.

Hollywood is our TV industry....not the very core of our economy..33% of our oil industry's refineries....and who's to say that Hollywood isn't next? TV is the second biggest false god our nation has...I think.

There are many things in our nation that are "on the brink" like the nuclear power plant in New York. We are operating by the skin of our teeth. Our modern day world is a world sitting on egg shells and all of these catastrophic events serve to demonstrate to us the stark reality of how fragile our cozy, modern lifestyle really is.

In third world countries, there are people who live in true poverty the likes of which we have never truly tasted. We send missionaries to these countries to bring God to them and instead, those people sitting in poverty bring God to our missionaries. They sit in true poverty yet are thankful for what they have, while people in the states get bent out of shape because they can't afford to put gas in the second SUV sitting in their driveway or have to drive around without the air conditioning blasting them in the face due to higher gas prices. We are here to minister to each other...and God continually reminds us that in order to minister we must be ministered to.

It could just as easily had been my city sitting in total devistation and me and my family could be the ones on tv suffering tribulation. It's not what happens to us in this life as we are passing through it...but how we handle those things by learning to rely on God. Job was a man of God....but lost everything.

A lot of people in our area were preparing for the worst at the start of this weekend. We were bracing ourselves for all the gas stations in our area to run out of gas...half of them did during the week. We were preparing ourselves for everything consumable to skyrocket in price due to higher transportation costs....provided that transportation of goods in our area didn't come to a complete stop due to no gas being distributed to our area. Actually, groceries have gone up in price in our area enough that everyone is coming out of the stores complaining. But gas just went down 20 cents and is now back down to a cheap (a little sarcasm here) $3.29 per gallon.

Any time in the Bible that God brought judgement upon a place there was total destruction (Lot and Noah) he warned the righteous beforehand and got them completely out before the destruction hit.

I have not heard of anyone getting such a warning or word BEFORE the hurricane.

Also God always destroyed totally when he brought about these judgements.  No one on Earth survived except the 8 in the ark.

NO ONE who was in Sodom and Gommorah survived. 

This is not what happened in New Orleans, Mississippi, or Alabama.

Personally, I wouldn't compare it to Sodom & Gomorah. I would compare it more to Egypt and the plagues. The United States being Egypt.

About 7 or 8 years ago I was listening to christian radio in the truck and some preacher was on...............I can not remember his name............anyway.....he said if you live in New Orleans, prepare yourself and your families to leave because God is judging that city and it will be under water.
