It would seem that it is the one who is yielded to God to the precepts that is learned more is given; So then the one that 'has' more will be given as promised

Mark 4:24-25

24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

nice scripture, but after watching people here read something and come to several conclusions, I am not sure it's applicable to who gets to decide.

It is the Scripture itself...

John 12:47-48

47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Parables can present a challenge for the student of the Bible. Jesus told parables to: reveal the truth to those who wanted to know it and to conceal the truth for those who were indifferent. Most are explained. There is also some challenging scripture in the book of Revelation. A person can always go to a trusted Bible scholar who has studied the book of Revelation and get the answers.

Why not go to the Lord and ask Him for wisdom and understanding instead of relying on the arm of flesh and trusting in man?  It's HIS word, He is the best one to reveal it.

Speaking of false prophets and signs and wonders to deceive the elect.....this is not something that will be unique to the future.  It both has been in the past and is going on in the present.  I think the first time we see it in the bible is when Pharaoh's priests imitated the miracles that Moses did.  (Egypt is not just a metaphor of the world and the need to come out of it, it's also a metaphor for needing to come out of apostate Judaism and apostate churches.)  In studying prophecy it's worth keeping in mind that false prophets and false messiahs were not unheard of as concerns Israel/Jerusalem, though we may be unaware of a lot of that history.

Hey @Heleadethme 😊

I'm sure that a lot of folk do sincerely do this. However, how do you explain the untold number of interpretations of Scripture, as each person claims to have personally obtained their wisdom and  understanding from the Lord?

There is this Scripture:

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

Hebrews 4:12

However there is also this Scripture:

11And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [e]edifying of the body of Christ, 13till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Ephesians 4:11-16

Well, there are a lot of different factors involved.  This is not cut and dried and Jesus never promised it would be.  As any parent knows having a houseful of children can be quite a messy business.  :)

For one thing there is the matter of growth and experience....we obtain more or deeper understanding as we grow in the Lord, and also we learn to distinguish between our own mind and an unction or revelation of the Spirit by experience.  Also keeping in mind we only know in part.

And as always we need to test the spirits.

Many people don't seem to grow very much.....they never get weaned off 'mother church' and relying on being taught by others instead of the Lord.  Learning to hear from Him and trust in Him is a matter of growing.

Is 28:9  To whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine?  them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

We are a peculiar lot! I'm so glad that the Lord understands each and everyone of us.

You understand my thought afar off.
And are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.

Psalm 139
