When God judges a city or place it is presumptuous to try to rebuild it.

I haven't read this thread because I didn't want my post to be influenced by other opinions. To be honest, I haven't thought about rebuilding New Orleans before this.

On one hand, my initial response is NO! Can you imagine the degree of debauchery that would continue and thrive even stronger because of the attitude, "N'awlins will never really be destroyed!" Even in it's diseased devastation, homosexuals still callously celebrate and bars are running with stolen goods. New Orleans was a sinfully wicked city for the most part. Even their politics and law enforcement were crooked! In this light, it's best left as deserted marshland.

On the other hand, it's a major port. Ok, so rebuild the port and only what's necessary to keep the port going.

On the OTHER hand, is rebuilding a place that God may very well have shown His wrath on a good idea???

On the OTHER hand, I'm totally unconcerned with whether or not they rebuild and don't really care. God's will will be fulfilled either way.

I'm going to stop now before I grow a fifth hand....

I respect your right to your opinion, but I completely disagree. It's like the Pharoah in Egypt saying, "Come on guys! They're just frogs! We've always had frogs!"

Yeah, that was my concern, too.

I'd vote for rebuilding the port elsewhere - somewhere that is actually above sea level!

After reading those articles about the wetlands . . . I'm all for the wetlands!

Moses warned Egypt of the SPECIFIC judgements that were to come. I can see the frog thing but the bloody river and first born thing was supernatural. Katrina was well within the natural just like other castastrophies . I didn't here a prophet give a specific warning and even if someone did, its as lame as sayind America will suffer another terrorist attack. You don't need to here God to put that one together. Same with N.O. and its flood.

Well, I had heard before about major disastors occuring in the US after we acted in a way against Israel. So, as the pull-out from Gaza was occuring, I was fully expecting something to happen. So, if you want to add this hurricane to a whole list of "coincidences" as nothing more than coincidences, then I guess the weather is run by coincedences.

But really, I think this whole debate is a theology issue over whether God would punish, discipline, whatever in this way.

As I read the Bible, I see that God has moved in this way. Remember when the Lord sent a plague against the people of Israel to punish King David for taking the census?

Even in the NT, the Lord took the lives of Ananias and Saphira for lying to the Holy Spirit, and He took the life of King Herod when the people began to worship him as a god.

As far as how the Lord judges, we can't expect things to occur the same way they did before - can you name any way that the Lord followed the same methods or the same pattern? Each case is handled as it needs to be handled. If people don't listen, that's on their head.

As far as prophecying the event beforehand, I have one question to ask: Do you believe that there are prophets on Earth this day?

God's judgments will always be able to be explained away by the natural mind because the natural mind only sees what it want to see. It does not want to be revealed. Why do you think Pharaoh kept changing his mind about letting Israel go? It's very easy to explain away a plague of locusts or other such things. "A strong east wind brought the frogs. A strange phenomenon caused the darkness. An earthquake caused the Red Sea to open." Blah, blah, blah. Well, in the end God had His way, didn't he? And God will have His way again. He means to be reverenced and obeyed. He can't let the evil continue any more. It's too out of hand. It's the time of the harvest. The tares will be bundled into one area and the wheat will be gathered into the barn. Continue watching to see what God has in store for tares. In case you haven't noticed, most of the O.T. is judgment and a good portion of the N.T. is also judgment. This earth belongs to God and He's going to take it back.

New Orleans should be rebuilt again. It's incorrect to belive most people that have left would love living in the assighned city they are being sent to for relief. Of course they will apply for jobs in their new area but has anyone one heard of an overabundance of employment opportunities lately. A rebuilding of New Orleans can promise many skilled and unskilled jobs with hands on apprentanceship opening in all kinds of fields from laborers to architects, electricians to excavating. It is a rare chance to start with a fairly clean slate.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
