Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Jesus commanded the imperative to watch, watch for what?

To watch implies not only to believe that our Lord will come, but to desire that he would come, to be often thinking of his coming, and always looking for it as sure and near, and the time of it uncertain. To watch is to be aware of the first notices of his approach, that we may immediately attend his motions, and address ourselves to the duty of meeting him. ~ Matthew Henry

We are watching signs and prophetic events pointing to the end of this age and the coming Tribulation. Are we receiving our first notices? There is a laundry list of things we are to watch for that will precede the Lord’s coming in the Olivet Discourse and many other prophetic passages. Like never before, there will be a convergence of everything prophetic of the end of the age.

No other generation has witnessed what is now occurring and shaping up.

Isaiah 66:8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. (May 14, 1948)

Ezekiel 34:14 I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. (1967 Israeli Six-Days War)

Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

In the Bible trees generally represent nations, above the “fig tree” is representative of the nation of Israel.

I pose two questions:

(1) Has any previous generation witnessed a convergence of everything prophetic at the end of this age?

(2) Name one thing that applies to the end of this age that we are not seeing the beginning of sorrows and shaping up?

Nothing has ever shaped up like events in our present age to align with what I call prophetic markers. We have several markers lighting up bright red. So far we haven't witnessed a total convergence, but I don't think it is far away.

Here is the Beginning of sorrows text I think you might be referring to from Matt. 24.-

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

As you know Jesus was addressing His followers and the book of Matthew is generally seen as a book to the jews, although there are helpful passages for all gentiles.

You are probably aware there is a difference of opinion on exactly WHO Jesus was addressing. Many here, including some long time moderators will say these statements were expressly for only that handful of people there at that time, and since Jerusalem fell in 70AD to the Romans all of this has happened, From verse 14 onward though this is where I think things get more than a little sketchy because it is obvious to be Jesus is referring to a later time and later events that have not yet happened. In verses 1-13 I think Jesus was taking to more direct events that affected those people at that time. Verse 14 onward Jesus is taking them into the distant future.

Those who would argue this will say the abomination of desolation already was in the temple in the form of a Roman emperor or the pope who makes himself a deity among men. I think this will be more than a temporary ruler who blasphemes the Lord. Jesus refers to Daniel in Matt 24. The masons and other demonic cults have been waiting for their 'messiah' for a long time and have worked feverishly to help make it happen. Jesus basically says that when it happens you will know it ( those who have the Spirit).

I don't think this individual has appeared yet. I think he is probably here and has been for some time, but not installed into power yet. Doesn't seem it is far off to me because worlds events are clearly making way for some kind of a big RESET or change. This change won't be local it will be world wide and everyone will be affected by it.

I think we are in the BEGINNING of sorrows. Only the beginning but it can move fast after that.

Interesting topic. I agree with what starise has said above, and he actually helped me regarding this subject of Jesus' return.

Another slant on this, is the term 'be ready', which means that we must keep our lamps full of oil so we can be ready for our King when he returns to receive us to Him. Also, this is not the time to 'slumber' as the other un-wise virgins do; Being caught un-prepared when the bride groom comes.

I live in the country, and 400+ feet from the road, so my driveway is 500 feet or more. I got tired of people driving in and not knowing that they are there, so, I put an driveway alarm down near the road that chimes a bell in my house when cars are coming down my driveway. I also have some security cameras so that I can tell who/what set off the alarm. Sometimes it is animals (deer etc.) that set off false alarms, and sometimes it is the mailman delivering a package, and sometimes it is friends and family, and other times it is someone who should not be on our property (and I have to deal differently with those individuals). IF I allow the battery on my alarm to get weak (needs recharging) it may not work consistently, and if I wait too long it won't work at all, allowing me to be caught un-aware of somebody coming. IF I get too many false alarms (which means I need to readjust my alarm sensor), I tend to ignore the alarm which is another problem too!

Hope this helps someone . . .

No argument or debate with your thoughts, I am of like mind.

Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (or the end of the age)

Yes, Jesus is speaking to His disciples (Jews) of the events and conditions of the world before His second coming (the Tribulation). In my opinion, there are several dual prophecies, shadows, and types in the Bible. I believe Antiochus IV Epiphanes was a type and shadow of the coming Antichrist. I am well aware of what preterists and others think, and this is only my hermeneutic view of scripture.

I believe Jerusalem is the center of the world and a cup of trembling. Want to know what time it is on the prophetic clock? Israel is the minute hand, and Jerusalem is the second hand. The globe is preoccupied with dividing and giving away Israel’s little sliver of land for peace that will never happen. Everyone is now condemning Israel; nine out of ten United Nations resolutions go against the State of Israel.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

In other words, history will repeat itself; we should not be surprised but expect it.

Our Messiah was born a Jew, Jews wrote the Bible, and the Jews preserved scripture. Our Bible is a mosaic of the big picture for all of humanity, the creation, the future written in advance, our sinful nature, and what happened. Why our need for redemption, and from whom?

There is a theological term called “the law of the first mention.” When a list of things is presented, the first mention is usually the priority or first. When Jesus repeats Himself twice, it is for emphasis, to grab our attention. Deception is the first on that list, and so we don’t miss it, Jesus highlights “deception” four times in Matthew chapter twenty-four.

Generally speaking (the trend) with all the propaganda, fake news, and liberal media, every time a politician opens their mouth, it is lies and deception.

I need to purchase a “lie meter” from Amazon. Every time O’Biden, Harris, the Press Secretaries, Pelosi, A.O.C., etc., open their pie holes, I would have easy documentation of no truth in them.

I suspect the Antichrist must be alive and well somewhere, ready to appear soon. As Obama came out of obscurity and became president, I think the Beast will follow suit.

It makes sense that the Man of Sin will rise through the United Nations Secretary-General, the European Union leader, or the new structure of the coming global great reset? We are the generation that will witness all these things.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
