What is the meaning of the parable of the fig tree? (Part 1).

•    Mat 24:32,33 -> “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: so likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.”.

Of what parable He was referring to?

First of all, let’s figure out the excerpt. In Israel, the Winter finishes in March, 21th. From this moment, all the trees start to revive and produce new twigs and leaves. Jesus, as the true lamb of the Passover, was crucified more or less in the beginning of April (14th day of the month of Abib in the Judaic calendar – Lev 23:5).

At this time, the fig tree was starting to recover of the severe Winter. Therefore, it wasn’t time of fruits. This was the reason why Jesus didn’t find figs in the fig tree below (Mark 11:13):

•    Mat 21:18,19 -> “In the morning, as he was returning to the city, he became hungry. And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.”

Many people ask: but, why did Jesus curse this fig tree, once it wasn’t the season for figs?

As we could see in Matthew 24:32, when the fig tree has tender branches and puts forth leaves, it’s a sign that the summer is nigh and the fig trees already has some figs (although most of them are still green and only will be ripe in the Autumn). So, this fig tree is wrong in two ways:

•    It was heralding the proximity of the Summer, which only would arrive after two and a half months. It was lying;
•    It promised to be ready for a good harvest (it renewed faster than the other fig trees), but didn’t have any fruit. This recall what the writer of Hebrews wrote:

o    Heb 5:11,12 -> “About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food,”.

In this condition, the only thing for what this fig tree could be “useful” it was at the same way which we can read in Genesis:

•    Gen 3:7 -> “Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.”.

Of course, this cover wasn’t efficient. So much so that The Creator made to them other clothes (Gen 3:21). In other words, this fig tree only could give a false sensation of being covered.

So, have a good day increasing in intimacy with Jesus so that you don’t come to be find naked when Jesus comes (2Cor 5:2; 1John 2:28; Rev 3:18).

Tomorrow we will continue.

The Fig Tree of Matthew 24 is a very important prophecy. In it hidden the matter of the Temple and the Beast.

The parable of the Fig Tree is an answer to the three questions asked by the disciples in Matthew 24:3. They are (i) When will these thngs be, (ii) what is the sign of your coming, and (iii) what is the sign of the end of the age. Our Lord answers these questions i how they touch Israel, how they pertain to the Church and how they affect the Gentiles.

Matthew 24:4-31:
If you make a list of the things our Lord Jesus mentions in this section of scripture, you will, if you are astute, suddenly see that they are all things that pertain to the Jews. The Temple is the center of the Jewish religion and the center of the Law. false Christ's are a Jewish problem. Jerusalem, Judea, the Law, the Sabbath and Daniel are all Jewish things. The Abomination of Desolation and gathering those scattered to the four winds all pertain to Israel. Even though the twelve Apostles are Christians, their calling to the gospel is to the "CIRCUMCISION" (Gal.2).

Matthew 24.32 - 25:30:
Abruptly, our Lord changes to a parable. According to Matthew 13 our Lord speaks in parables so that only the Church might understand. That is, a parable means that our Lord is talking to the Church. What then is the great sign of the Fig Tree???

While Israel was one nation they were designated as "The Vine". Then, first the northern Tribes, and then 130 years later the southern Tribes were carried into captivity. When the Remnant of Judah returned to build the second Temple, God designated them as the Fig Tree. And the leaves of a Tree are its covering - its garment. And a garment in parable is works (e.g. Rev.19:7-8). So what we must discover then is, what works did Judah involve themselves in. It was the Law.

Judah was carried off to Babylon because of idolatry. When they returned, they wee meticulous not to break the Law again. Jesus even accused the Pharisees of precisely tithing herbs (Mt.23:23). But He also accused them of ignoring "the weightier matters of Law" - right judgment, mercy, faith etc. That is why, he found leaves BUT NO FRUIT. So, the Fig Tree budding and blossoming is works of Law. The fruit is something different. But in this lies the Great SIGN! Scholars the world over peg the Fig Tree at the 14th May 1948 when Israel became a Sovereign Political State. But that is NOT when the leaves blossom!

If the leaves are the covering and mean the works of Law, then Israel can only claim that covering when the Law is carried out. And the Law can only be fulfilled when there is a TEMPLE! Some of the most crucial laws of the Covenant revolve around "the place where God has chosen to put His Name"! That is, the Fig Tree is not the center of the parable, but "the leaves"! In Daniel 9:27 the literal Hebrew is; "he (the Beast) will strengthen THE COVENANT". And what is the proof given??? THE DAILY OBLATION"! The daily oblation is only found in the Law of Moses. When Daniel 9:27 arrives what the Beast achieves is (i) the third Temple and (ii) Israel can fulfill the Law again.

THE PARABLE OF THE FIG TREE POINTS TO THE THIRD TEMPLE COMPLETED, AND THE LEAVES TO THE COVENANT OF LAW BEING PRACTICED!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
