Anyone's kids do "See you at the Pole" today?

My son was the coordinator for our school this year. I hope he had a good turn out.

Anyone else's kids do it?

I don't have any kids, but our youth pastor here is going and the entire youth group will be there, both and Senior and Junior High

last year, my eldest was the FCA pres, and cordinator for the event....

I work as a substitute teacher, and was working at a high school the day of See You At The Pole (Manteca, California). That was the first time I've ever witnessed the event myself. I made it to the pole at about 7:01, and there was already at least 50 students there. By about 7:10, there must have been at least 100 students there. And by around 7:15-7:20, there were at least 200 people at the pole! I was really surprised. I had expected nobody to be there, or maybe 10 people at the most!

I was really encouraged to see so many students at the pole, and the students were the ones leading the entire time, with prayer and songs. Praise God.

The Christian radio station out of Baltimore had a couple of DJ's out at a couple of schools and opened up the phones for peopole to call in and testify.

At least around here, it seems pole attendance has really shot up!

At one of the high schools, the year before was maybe 20 people, if that. This year, there were over 100!

Reports form parents seemed to indicate a similar trend, maybe not as dramatic, but dramatic enough!

This is liberal country - central Maryland is.

These results just made my morning that day!

I meant to go, but I was super-sick that morning, so I didn't even get to classes, nevermind SYATP. I used to co-lead it in high-school. We started out with about eight people, and by my grade 12 year there were about forty people, and even a couple of teachers! Anyway, I loved it! The local Tim Hortons (run by a Christian) even started donating donuts and coffee for us early risers *grin* Anyway, I've always loved that ministry.
