Greetings!

To me this is a judgement call. Not up to anyone on earth to decide. ;)

I think Jesus The Christ would like to see more Jews recognize HIM, via the Messianic Judaism way. ;)

Anyone without Yeshua is lost.

If one knows Him as Jesus, that is better than not knowing Him at all...but Yeshua belongs to the Jews

Romans 1:16

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: primarily for the Jew, yet equally for the Gentile.

Matthew 15:24

He (Yeshua) answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."

Yod, could you please elaborate on this? I think I am reading something in this that you don't really mean.

There's nothing wrong with being a Messianic Jew. You are a fully completed Jew, as God intended Jews to be.

When a Jew gets saved they do not need to forsake their Jewish roots. That is who they are. But, their supreme identity must be Yeshua, not Israel/Jewishness.

what do you think I mean? :noidea:

The gospel came to us through centuries of jewish suffering to maintain the Word of God.

Eph 2:19Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

They are THE people of God. We are joined to them.....not them to us.

Of all peoples on the planet THEY should have known the day of their visitation. The "good news" of salvation is primarily for the people of God yet equally "good news" to those outside of the covenants of promise.

Which included us until we became partakers of the covenants and promises made to Israel through adoption.

Thank you, Yod. I was reading it wrong. I fully agree with what you are saying. Well, except for this:

If one knows Him as Jesus, that is better than not knowing Him at all...but Yeshua belongs to the Jews

What's in a name? Isn't Jesus just Yeshua in another language? Don't we also know most (all?) of the apostles by the Greek (may be wrong on the language) versions of their Hebrew names? Whether we know Him as Jesus or Yeshua shouldn't matter, as long as we know Him. :noidea:

Also, I would say the Jews belong to Yeshua, not the other way around. :P

Here's an interesting question- I have a friend who actually became a Messianic after he became saved. That is, he was not raised as a Jew (Catholic actually), but some time after he accepted Christ in college he chose to live in the same tradition as a Messianic Jew. What are some thoughts on this?

I believe that the Messianic Jew has one thing up on us gentiles. The Messianic Jew was first born as a jew. We gentiles are drafted in yes, yet there is a difference.

Okay, past time to reply. That is an interesting thing yod mentions that I haven't really thought about, assuming I am getting his meaning correctly. As Christians, we too are Jews, adopted into God's family. I wonder why this isn't taught more? We all learn that we become sons and daughters of God when we accept Christ, but no one mentions further what that means. Israel has always been God's people and still are, which means that when He adopts and makes us part of His family, we become Jews as they have always been His family since Abraham.

However, as Gentile Christians we are taught that we don't need to follow Jewish customs, presumably since they are of the old Covenant and we enter under the new Covenant, Jesus Christ. Please correct me if I am in error here. This does bring up the question though of why Messianic Jews (born Jewish) still celebrate Jewish customs while Gentile Christians do not. Is there a problem either way? I know when my friend started celebrating Jewish customs he stopped celebrating Christmas and Easter, those not being in the Bible. I haven't spoken to him in several years, so I don't know if this is still the case.

I have a friend who adopted a Korean girl.

She is a beautiful little girl and because the parents love her so much, they not only adopted her, they also "adopted" a little of her Korean culture into their Anglo household.

As much as her former culture might mean to this little girl throughout her life, she has come into a totally different family and was brought up with a very different standard and culture.

She has no right or authority to demand that her adoptive parents act like Koreans.

This is comparable to christians who think that Israel and/or the jews must join the "christian" church. Hear what I am not saying; The Church has become very culturally European gentile.

Nothing inherantly wrong with a European gentile cultural heritage...but that heritage has practially nothing to do with the Bible. The jews heritage IS the Bible.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
