Boy Howdy!!  Do I EVER use verbal language sometimes!  Ir's OK if you don't, but I do sometimes.

At night, on my bed, I use silent prayers - no talking out loud, but still talking to God from the heart.

But there are times when my voice raises - not to shout loud enough to reach heaven, but to express to him how moved I am to praise his name or thank him in prayer.

When my mother, in a coma in our living room lying in a borrowed hospital bed, died last year -  the standard group of people had to come over:  the sheriff's department, the coroner, the funeral home, the hospice director, and my helper was there.  

I was calm and quiet - but when they all left, I couldn't help it - I raised my hands and arms in the air and shouted my thank yous to God.  I shouted thanks that he saved her immortal soul and that her suffering was over and that she was with Christ and my dad.

There was no way that I could NOT shout it.

In the Bible, people shouted praises, thanks, confessions, and more to God.  And in the Bible, people prayed silently.  Jesus cried out on the cross to God and who knows what his silent prayers were that day.

It's not a matter of a decibel level.  God hears it all.

It's a matter of heart.  God hears the silent prayers and the spoken ones and the shouted one.  Examples of all three are in the Bible.

All three have appropriate times and places.

Yes for me when people go onto their reward it is a time of celebration. Even when my son died I celebrated that he was in a better place and this is what he wanted. Of course we have to deal with grief and sorrow, but not nearly as much as we celebrate and rejoice that their work here is finished.  They go to a far better place than this world.

I quote Psalm 139:16 constantly, I tell people that God writes the book of our life before we are even formed in the womb. All our gifts, talents and abilities are in our DNA. We work together with God to become the person He calls us to be. 

According to Science we were all at the Beginning. The elements that make up our body have been every life form that ever was. 

Ephesian 1:4 "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love"
