What is our calling in Jesus?

to get to Heaven?

to change this evil world?

to preach?

to control politicians?

What have we discovered in God's word, about this?

I think of Mark 3:14 >

"Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him, and that He might send them out to preach," (Mark 3:14)

So, from this I see that Jesus did not call them only to serve Jesus, but first Jesus desired to have His twelve disciples so He could love them and share with them. And this is what Jesus wants with us . . . first, to be with Jesus.

So, in ministry, our basic calling is not to preach or do whatever. But first we need to be with Jesus, therefore in His love and leading with "rest for your souls." (in Matthew 11:28-30)

"'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:29)

And in this rest, Jesus proves Himself to us, plus has us doing what God really desires to do . . . in personal sharing with us with Him.

Here is another scripture about what is our basic Christian calling >

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

This is for all of us who are in the "one body" of Jesus. God wants to rule all of us together with Him in His own peace being shared with each of us. And in God's peace we have our Creator's own creativity for how to love each and every person. And in the ruling of this peace, we are guided according to all God knows so we can make trustworthy and reliable choices about everything :)

And all God's children "in one body" are "called" to this. This is not some status thing for only certain super-spiritual out-of-reach saints or high-status ministers.

So, simply trust our Father to make us submissive together with Him and one another in this His peace. And here is where our unity iswhere He coordinates us according to His level of intelligence and ability and intel info.

I believe our `calling` as the Ekklesia, the `called out ones,` from Israel and the nations, is -

`speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the Head - Christ - from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.` (Eph. 4: 15 & 16)

our purpose..., the best kept secret it seems, is to spread the gospel to go out into the fields so to speak. for a bigger harvest.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 AKJV the Blood Stained Gospel \O/

15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,

1.how that Christ died for our sins

2. according to the scriptures;

3.  and that he was buried,

4. and that he rose again the third day

5. according to the scriptures:

i put it into bullet points to break it down to illustrate that this is what it boils down to. no works involved \O/

all we need do is to accept the free gift of Grace from God. it is by Grace through Faith that we are saved.

faith in what? glad you asked!

faith in the blood Atonement of Christ. it is finished Christ completed what he came to do. he came to save all people. he died for us. He died for All of our sins, past, present and future sins and for our part, we need to accept that gift by believing WHAT Christ did for us. and that it is enough and no works is required!

but human nature being what it is, think it has to be complex and it cant be this simple! so simple that a child gets it but not adults!!

This is basic, Mabel. I have been hearing this in various Jesus-Bible churches, plus I just read this in your post :)

Jesus did all He did on the cross, and now God does all He desires, by His grace succeeding in people. Our Father draws a person to Jesus. And God changes a person "from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me," Jesus says in Acts 26:18.

Our Apostle Paul says "we who first trusted in Christ," in Ephesians 1:12. We do not trust in and depend on ourselves!

And we live by "faith working through love," Paul says, in Galatians 5:6.

And our calling includes how God's love has us loving like Jesus who is "gentle and lowly in heart" (Matthew 11:29) >

"I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love," (Ephesians 4:1-2)

So, Jesus is gentle and humble in His love; and therefore His love has us relating gently and humbly >

"without complaining and disputing", we are commanded in Philippians 2:13-16.

So, I see how this faith through which grace saved us (Ephesians 2:8) also works by means of love (Galatians 5:6) to have us become and love like Jesus.

So, "we who first trusted in Christ" are guaranteed Heaven and this leaven.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
