Some of you know that my relationship with God is absolutely haging by a thread at this time.

I have prayed to God, but it seems He is walking away, and has given up on me.

At night, I used to call to Him, but now I've given up.

I can compare to David, when he said that God seemed "hide from him"....

After much thought, I wondered how I was ever going to survive as a Christian, if God did not show up.

I lay in bed one night, and, (as I told Mum later,) I decided to do an experiment.

I decided that I would pretend to be a non-Christian.......how would I feel....?

Would I feel lost? Alone?

I shut my eyes, and pretended.

I could not believe myself......

A wash of relief flooded over me!!!!

I could not believe it!

If being a non-Christian........... :noidea: .............

As some of you know, I'm very unhappy with life at the mo.

I frequently suffer from depression, though this is the first time I have admitted it.

In this unhappiness and misery, having that wash over me is frightenly attractive.

My realtionship with God is not making me happy at the mo.

I feel dreadful saying this...but it's the truth.

So........if I give up my Christianity, I'll go to hell...but if I reamain like this.......I'm going to be VERY unhappy..

:24:

What should I do?

Mum said it was "religeon", not Chiristianity that was seemingly so difficult to cope with.

Mum said that "legalism" (her word: religeon) was pressering me.....and that Jesus came to set us free.

I thank God she said that, but back to my descision, I don't know what to do.

Shall I just enjoy life, and forget about all my troubles.....or struggle along as a Christian?

If I do, reject all.....will I have lost my Salavation?

I am reminded of Peter, when he denied Jesus 3 times, yet He still forgave him.

But it says in the Bible, that whoever denies Jesus will himself be denied.

And I have one more question: Does considering if you EVER did make a commitment to Christ, mean you have denied him doing so, for I know a friend who is dening that God saved him....in the first place......

With me.....I don't know what to do.....maybe I should do the same as my friend.......

To many of you, this may sound crazy, coming from Yomo...... ;).......but if there is anyone who could answer....I would appreciate it so much.........

Yomo :24:

Hey Yomo sweetie. I hate to see you down. I wish I could hug you!

Depression down right stinks. I had a stinky year last year and I could write an "R" rated book about it. Thinking about it made me depressed. But, one thing made me see the light again, Jesus! I know that you are hanging by a string with your faith, that is so natural. I do it all the time. I get confussed and angry. An example: I am happily married to a wonderful man. My problem is that I am attracted to another man physically. I have begged God to get this out of my body and it hasn't helped yet. I get so upset that I say "the heck with it" and want to give up on my faith.

I don't because I know that this is another one of His tests that He has given me. I won't give up. You can't give up.

It seems to me that you have way too much stuff going on in your brain. You should seriously consider taking a break from this site and from other things just to collect yourself. Keep looking to Jesus. He won't betray you, Yomo. He is still there with you but you have to be strong and keep with him.

I could go on and on but it is up to you. No one can give you the right answer. :noidea:

:noidea: aw Yomo ,

Remember Jesus loved you enough to die for you. It does sound as though your to tough on yourself, you may be making it hard on yourself, you see you sound as though you beat yourself up over alot things. Honey your never gonna be perfect, and the sooner you understand that the "peace" you are looking for will wash over you.

Does this mean to stop trying, no it does not. But the Lord forgives you when you mess up, so you have to learn to forgive yourself. :24: As far as feeling as though God has turned His back on you...He hasn't, maybe He is teaching you patience, trials refine us and make us stronger. Look for the lesson to be learned in troubles.

And remember giving up isn't going to bring you peace, this world cannot give peace. I think what you felt when you tried to be a "non-christian" was the peace of not feeling guilt, where there should be no guilt in Christ.

Relax in the Lord and know that you are loved above all things in this world. You have a haven in Christ, you just have to learn how to go there.

I hope this helped somewhat hun.... ;)

Love and Blessings,

Angel

 Dear, dear Yomo: I think of the trials and tribulations the first century Christians had and thank the good Lord my trials are so much less.

God promised to always be with us and He is. It is satan who tries to make us

believe that God forsakes. Hang onto your trust and love of the Lord no matter what the devil tries to get you to believe....after all, you were loved so much that Jesus died for you. Sometime just staying faithful when you think God's not there is the test. Your faithfulness will bear good results. I will keep you in my prayers that God restore your peace and joy and confidence in your salvation. Hang on Sweetie, God is faithful to His promises.

Prayers and blessings, Goldpearl

When I get depressed ( which is quite frequently these days) I come onto worthy and test everybodys grace levels. It is quite encourageing to see that I'm not the only over-opinionated, selfish, screwed up wretch of a sinner in this world.

You are a positive influence on worthy. I don't think you have to worry about what God thinks about you. If I can read your posts and smile, I'm sure God's heart is melting.

Yomo,

I always found it dangerous to rely on my feelings when it comes to my relationship with God.

As God's word says, we are to live by faith, not by sight.

I love this verse:

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

When we become christians, God works in us in order for us to grow in Him so that we get to know Him, not to know of Him, but to really know Him. That time of training requires us to put our trust in Him.

God knows exactly what we need to grow in Him. He will use all types of situations for us to learn to trust Him and not to trust in the world.

Whatever circumstances you find yourself in, be assured that God is in them with you and His plans for you are the best (Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.)

Now, it is up to us to believe in Him and let Him work in us to transform us, or not to believe in Him and turn away from Him. But then when we turn away from Him, we turn toward His enemy who will be glad to see you giving up on God.

If you feel like being a non-christian is better than being a christian, then you are being deceived because, as God says, all pleasures of this world will fade away.

God said He will never leave you, so if you feel He is not there, it is just a feeling but not the truth. Sometimes God allow you to feel like that to build up your faith, to build your perseverance, to strengthen you.

You need to stand on the Word of God and decide you are going to believe it.

Beside God there is nothing, all is vanity, all is futile, all is worthless.

Also, when we accept Jesus as our Savior and our Lord, then we renounce living for ourselves, we have now decided to live for Him and Him only.

Yomo, keep your eyes on Jesus, not on your feelings, not on how you would like things to turn out, your life to be, your friends to be, the size of your wallet, the amount of your possessions, .....

When Peter started to look around him, at the wind and the waves, instead of keeping his eyes on Jesus, then he sank!

You say:

My realtionship with God is not making me happy at the mo.

Who said following Christ was going to be easy?

But I know for sure, following Christ is the best thing you can do. There will be hardships and trials in the way, but in the end you will no longer be a slave to the desires of your flesh, but you will be free in the Spirit.

You said:

Shall I just enjoy life, and forget about all my troubles.....or struggle along as a Christian?

The joy you want to experience will only be temporary and shallow, but if you put your trust in Him and allow Him to work in you, your joy will be everlasting and deep.

Many people come to Christ only accepting Him as their Savior, but we also need to accept Him as our Lord, because we cannot grow in Him and know Him if we only accept Him as our Savior and continue to live our own self-gratifying life. This is impossible.

Lastly, you said:

If I do, reject all.....will I have lost my Salavation?

If you sincerely accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you will not lose your salvation. God has adopted you. He has made you His daughter and will always recognize you as such. He promised to never leave you nor forsake you.

This is like my children, they will always be my children even if they run away from home, from me.

Yomo, being in God's arms is the best place to be, but if you want to wonder away from Him, He will not stop you. He will be sad, but He loves you so much that He will let you go and will wait for you to come back to Him, with His arms wide open.

Keep your eyes on Jesus!

ONe time when I was going to college and those wicked professors kept filling my head with evolution and the big band and such, I got so frustrated and discouraged that I somehow decided to set out to prove the Bible was wrong, and that God didn't exist after all. Nevermind the fact that I spoke in tongues and had seen miracles with my own eyes. Anyway, i was so confused I set out to try to prove Gd didn't exist, and that consequently I must be crazy. I opened my Bible and began by looking for a simple flaw that "Must" be there, such as ages not adding up, etc, in the geneologies. I got to about Genesis 9, and became so convicted as I began to realize there was no error, it was all perfectly laid out with no contradictioin to speak of. I haven't questioned the existence of God sense.

If you are thinking of walking away because God hasn't answered in your time, then remember this. Elizabeth and Zechariah were the laughing stock of Israel because they were childless. In those days, such was believed by the pharisees to be a sign of lack of favor with God, or of sin in ones' life. If Zecharia and Elizabeth had just forsaken the Lord, as you are thinking of doing, they would have missed giving birth to John the Baptist, the greatest of the Old Testament prophets... huh?

God hears you when you pray, and remember, he will never leave you nor forsake you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
