No, I'm trying to prevent people from losing their souls or being sucked into a spiraling mess like the one I still struggle with daily because of fantasy books and video games.

The over judgemental attitudes and public ridicule like this, is what kept me away from church for so many years. Being brought up in front of the congregation at 13 years old during services because my skirt didn't reach my knees and being called a harlot and jezebel.

We HAVE to start using the ministry with compassion and understanding.

We are chasing more away than bringing in.

If a movie or book like Narnia teaches the morality that Jesus taught, it can't be evil or wrong.

I think in order to decide if the narnia series is "evil" , you need to read them first. Judging on something that you have no knowledge on is ignorant.

Just what in the trailer you saw was wrong?

The only witch in the movie was evil personified. There were no spells or potions etc.

No, you aren't wrong that some people get a little carried away and end up driving other people away from God because of personal opinion. The example of the lady who said you will go to Hell for listening to the wrong music was a good example. However, whyso has a point, too. There are a lot of books and movies that lead people down the wrong path without the person even knowing that they are being misled. Some people are susceptible to different things and have to watch out for those things.

I for one can't drink. I'd make a fine alcoholic, but I don't allow myself a single drink. I find that I have a problem with anyone drinking at all and find myself preaching at them even though I suppose drinking (in moderation) isn't wrong for everyone. I think that has direct bearing on the arguement being had here because what will lead one person wrong (in fantasy books/movies/games) will not affect another person the same way. But we seem to be looking at it in black and white where this might actually be a shade of gray question. (Wow! HOpe that didn't just open a can of worms.)

All that being said.........we were discussing Narnia? Maybe the issue would be a bit less confusing if we wandered back to jus the Narnia books and discussed those.

NO THE BOOKS DO NOT PORTRAY WITCHES AND SORCERY AS GOOD!

Read up before you judge. You might actually come to like the books.

What part of the trailer did you disagree with?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

But it DOESN'T teach the morality that Jesus taught. What did Jesus say?

Matthew 5:18 - For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

And what does the LAW say?

Leviticus 19:31 - Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:6 - And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

Leviticus 20:27 - A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

Deuteronomy 18:11 - Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

Exodus 22:18 - Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Deuteronomy 18:10 - There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

Is it not true that these books portray diviners, sorcerers(sorceresses), witches and wizards as "Good" characters?

If so, and it is, then I rest my case.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

If we are still discussing the Narnia books then no, it is not true that they portray the witches as the good characters. Witches and magicians are always the bad characters, and they always get what is coming to them.

Well said but there is NOTHING in the narnia books that would lead anyone astray.

I admire WSB for his ability to pull scripture up on any topic. I also understand that he comes from a place were witchcraft and voodoo run rampant.

I even worried about him when he hadn't been around for awhile. But I have been noticing an air of discontent in a lot of his posts.

WSB, you were bitter when I first met you and you are even more bitter now. I pray that you find some spiritual nourishment, where ever you are. You have an amazing brain. :) I wish I could meet you face to face and give you a big hug. :D I know you have good intensions but please lay off the caffiene. :24:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
