Not only is there nothing amiss with glorifying the Lord on account of how He gave Himself for our sake, but it is altogether good and lovely to share the gift of salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ with others. 

This is not done with a haughty spirit but rather, as one who has not forgotten where they came from. We are not "better" than others by any means, my friend. Hardly! We are blessed beyond measure and called according to the blessing, and we sow seed (a nod to our brother @Sower) by pouring out what the Lord has given to us. It is not meant to be locked away, but shared!

Why didn't Paul proclaim themselves to already be saved?

This verse could be construed as confusing.  One sentence says "will be" and the next sentence says "is".  

 

Romans 10:9-10

English Standard Version

9 because, if (A)you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and (B)believe in your heart (C)that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Salvation is a gift. We can legitimately claim to have the gift of salvation in the here and now, as Paul does in verse 9 below.

Thank you.  No wonder I'm confused.  Some verses say we're already saved while others say we're "going" to be saved.

If you ever/eventually believe, you then will be saved.

When you believe (not if ) you are saved.

The word if, though little,  is sorta important.

Yes, as with every word and sentence in the Bible, context is of paramount importance when it comes to interpreting the text.

 Sometimes the context refers to the past conversion event when the sinner heard the Gospel, repented of sin, and put their faith in Christ.

Eph 2:8-9  For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,  (9)  not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Other times the context refers to the immediate process of regeneration taking place at which time penitents are being saved.

Quote from Albert Barnes' Commentary:

To those who are being saved, the gospel is the power of God. They hear the message, they accept it by faith, and the miracle of regeneration takes place in their lives. Notice the solemn fact in this verse that there are only two classes of people, those who perish and those who are saved. There is no in-between class. Men may love their human wisdom but only the gospel leads to salvation.

Yet again sometimes the context refers to the future event of Christ's return to gather the faithful redeemed to Himself.

Heb 9:24-28  For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;  (25)  not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another—  (26)  He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.  (27)  And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,  (28)  so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

It has often been pointed out that we have three appearances of Christ in verses 24-28. They may be summarized as follows:
Verse 26: He has appeared. This refers to His First Advent when He came to earth to save us from the penalty of sin (the past tense of salvation).
Verse 24: He now appears. This is a reference to His present ministry in the presence of God to save us from the power of sin (the present tense of salvation).
Verse 28: He will appear. This speaks of His imminent Return when He will save us from the presence of sin (the future tense of salvation).
